Hey guys, how's it going? It's been forever since I've been on here and I see a TON of new faces. Hope everyone's hair growing is going well! For those of you who weren't here when I was, I used to be an active member of the board but cut my hair off back in May. I miss my long hair a lot sometimes, but good god is it comfortable having it short :) Anyways, just saying hey to anyone who was here a couple of years back - like I said, it's been a while since I stopped by.
Oh, and btw, anyone who might remember my goal of getting into shape from about a year ago - I've since run two marathons, finishing my first one in January in 3:51 (my goal being under four hours) and I just did my second one two weeks ago, finishing in 3:23 (knocking 28 minutes off my first time in just a month!!)

...no matter what, you have to do what right for you.
Congratulations on reaching your goals!
Good to see you again! Glad to hear that you are doing well.
That looks like a photo from the Parade Grounds; think I recognize the Law School in the background!
damn, good call!! yup, i was just enjoying a nice evening out there - you gotta love it out there when the weather is nice :)
Hi Weston, great to hear from you and congratulations on getting yourself in shape and making such great times on those marathons. Fitness is a great thing for both the mind and body.
Regards, Dave
Hello and Grats!
I know the short hair has to feel better while running. One of my friends did the same thing. He got into marathons and shaved his head =). Makes life so much easier for him.
Congrats on the goal and take care.
Best wishes...
Aubrey
Glad you checked in Weston ! You are looking great and your new goals in fitness are impressive. Hope you are doing well in your classes.....if I am counting right, you are about half way to your degree??
Keep in Touch and Thanks for Sharing.
Walter
I am glad to hear you are doing well and you really have gotten into shape. You are looking great! Sad you miss your hair and happy you find short hair more comfortable (it is certainly easier to handle).
Best of luck with everything and thanks for the update!

That's awesome to see you running a marathon. That's a really good time on your second one. I'm new posting, but remember seeing your posts a lot when I was lurking before I started posting. I've run two marathons too. That's an awesome improvement. I ran my last marathon in 3:22. Just for kicks, here's a picture of me running my marathon that also shows my hair. What marathons did you run?
good job on the time! my first was disney, which was INCREDIBLE - i grew up in orlando and have been to the parks a million times, but it was an unbelievable feeling running through them being one of the "elite runners" (one of about 13,000) hahah, but hey, i finished 954 out of 12,964! and my second was the mardi gras marathon in new orleans, which i finished 108 out of 1335! and i MIGHT be doing chicago in october!
Hey, GW, I remember a few pleasantries between you and I several years ago when I first went on line. You remind me (though don't resemble) another fellow longhair spirit who recently made the tansition ... world class chef, Mike Colameco. He has his own cooking show on PBS and a radio show, too. Surprised everyone. I swear, in reruns and today, he looks like two different people.
Say, as runner number eleven five ninety-nine in the black running gear, WHERE is that towering allosaurus looming up in the background? Just curious. The old Expo '67 fair grounds?
Anyway, congratulations on all your accomplishments in running. You're a genuine inspiration for me in that department.
Take care,
Quenyan
Hey Quenyan, thanks for the nice words!! The dinosaur was actually in one of the sections of Disney's Animal Kingdom - we ran through all four parks during the Disney marathon, and it was incredible! Such an unbelievable, unique experience - I highly recommend running it if you run marathons and can make it down to the Orlando area during January - you won't regret it!
