Can men really have thigh length or knee length hair or is this just an expression? If so, it would be great to see some pictures of these lengths.
Since women can, there's no reason why men can't.
However, healthy hair grows appr. 6 inches/year, and most people's
hair grows for 4 - 7 years before falling out and being replaced by
a new hair, resulting in a terminal length for most (not all,
obviously) people of 2 - 3 1/2 feet.
The longest two heads of hair in the world are both male - brothers
in northern Thailand, one with hair 17 feet, 2 inches. However,
these two, along with Mata Jagdamba (13' 10 1/2") and the late Swami
Pandarasannadhi (26'), both of India, seem to have different ideas
about hair care than the rest of us - never wash it, let it get
matted, and we have no idea how long their longest individual hairs
are....
so, yes, men can have knee-length hair as well as women, I have in
fact seen it on a couple of ocassions (and melted), but it's rare on
either gender due to the whole 'terminal length' bit. Personally,
mine's to mid-hip, and if it doesn't hit it's terminal length soon,
should be knee-length in about a year-and-a-half to two. Actually,
I'm quite excited by the possibility of it being long enough that
even when completely back people will be able to see the length from
the front because it'll finally be noticeably below my ass maybe as
soon as six months from now.
(Pantene, don't fail me now...)
