What's the best shampoo/conditioner to use so you don't get that dry pile of hay look after you wash it?
Hey Mike!
What kind of shampoo/condioner are you using now? It might be that you are using the wrong brand or there could be something in that shampoo/conditioner that is drying out your hair. I know before we have mentioned organic shampoo/conditioners. I hear they work really well. Plus never underestimate the power of hair masks =D. Sometimes no matter what we try we still have the dry hay for hair problem. So, having a hair treatment to use every week or few days can really help...
I really like, Frizz Ease Reinforce Strengthening Triple Cream Mask. Use it twice a week and it leaves ur hair feeling soft and hydrated.
I posted a link that gives a few at home hair masks that u can make in ur kitchen =)... I hope this helps!
tc and gl =D

I'm using a bottle of Suave for kids that was just kind of there in the shower....I'm to lazy to go out and buy my own. Seems like everytime I wash my hair it dries out with it (or most any shampoo for that matter)This problems actually kept me from washing it for weeks at a time just to get it oily enough that it won't look like straw.
I think it using a "for kids" shampoo that's the problem. I don't know if you're aware of this, but baby shampoo is the absolute worst shampoo for your hair. So are most shampoos made especially for kids
The reason is that they are formulated to be fairly alkaline, so that they don't irritate kids' eyes too much.
Shampoo needs to be more on the acid side of the pH scale. I'm not a shampoo user myself, as I wash with conditioner only, so I'm not the best one to recommend a brand, but try to find good moisturizing shampoo. Maybe someone else will know a good brand.
Best of luck on that!

You can wash with conditioner only???? I did not know that.....
Yup. I do it too, but occasionally I clarify with BS washes.
A lot of people recommened a diluted version of Queen Helene Mint Julep which you can find at Saly's if you live in the states. Avoid baby shampoos like Miss/Mrs. Franny says because they're terrible for hair. on anyone BUT a child.
Or you could get away with Baking soda rinses. Just take a tablespoon of Baking soda and dilute it in 2- or more cups of water depending on length. DO NOT USE more than that. After that, dilute a tablespoon of Apple cider vinegar in 3 or more cups of water or so and rinse the hair with that. The smell will fade after drying. Not for everyone, but it works for me. Keep in mind though that with that that some people dislike using a 'base' formula on their hair even if they are following with an acid (ACV).
And another option is to oil hair overnight before washing or up to thirty minutes before. It should help the dryness. And Suave makes terrible shampoo in general; it's really harsh on the hair.
