I was very lucky actually, if anyone here knows about the british medical service, you'll know how incredible it was to get an appointment so quickly.
Anyway, the doctor said that it is a possibility i have diebetes, but she looked through my file stuff.
In the middle of november i stopped taking a steriod tablet for my asthma and reduced my dosage of inhalers to a quater of what they were, so that could be it as well.
I doubt that could cause such a large weight loss in its self, but it's good to know there could be other reasons.
I have to go back if i lose anymore
Well, that's good news, Beanz! Thanks for keeping us all posted, and be sure to let us know if you learn more.

I would hope that if diabetes was even discussed as a possibility, that your doctor would at least have asked for a urine sample. Thirty seconds with a test stick into the urine right there in the office would have ruled diabetes out or not.
If the doctor didn't do at least that, she's no doctor. See someone else and ask again, for your sake.
RD (diabetic myself)
You know in the old days, they used to get someone to taste the urine to see if it was sweet which indicated diabetes. That's why it's called diabetes "mellitus" from the Indo-European root word for "honey" that becomes Latin "mellis" for honey and Greek "melissa" for honeybee, Hittite, "mel," and eventually English "mead," or a drink made from honey. Also of note is the name of the hall of the Rohirrim in LOTR, "Meduseld," after a fashion it means "mead hall" -- "medu," -- meadu, mead, etc. + "eld" -- held, hall, holm, hold, home, etc.
Sorry, I have this etymology crap running out my ears. I have to share it or go berserk! It can get old quickly though. No more today!
I should have also mentioned to Beanz, you can go into a local drugstore (or chemist) and buy a bottle of urine sugar test strips that you can do yourself at home. They're very common, and not that expensive, and if you get any kind of positive reading, you know you should definitely follow up again with the physician.
Dip it, wait a few seconds, and compare to a color chart on the bottle, and you know one way or the other. Kind of like a home pregnancy test actually. Do it!
I'm really glad that you went for that checkup. Did the doctor take a urine and/or blood sample? Please keep a careful eye on your weight, and if you have to go back please make sure that they take those samples for testing.
Thank you for letting us know, and keep us posted.

There is a very good chance that your testosterone levels are increasing and that can cause fat loss and / or, changes in fat distribution. This is why men in their prime have fat distributions that are very different from fat distributions in women. I wouldn't be overly concerned about it, nevertheless, I suppose it does require some degree of attention.
Enjoy life and worry very little about it.

Glad to hear you're on top of things. Good luck.

Glad to hear they are checking up on things. Hope all ends up being well.
On a lighter (and joking) note, if you don't want all that excess weight loss, could you send some of that weight loss karma to me? :P
