  I still have "wings" that won't reach the pony tail. Tried various things like hair spray, gel, etc. and haven't liked those. I finally broke the taboo within my own mind and use ....BOBBY PINS!! (I simply insure that I buy the estrogen-free kind. ;) Aren't they called "Kirby Grips" in G. Britain? That sounds more masculine somehow!
