Is it normal to break off hair strands while combing?

  I have tried combing and brushing in every method imaginable, but I still get some breakage (NOT shedding. I can feel it break off). Do you long-haired guys experience this on a daily basis and will it affect hair growth?

  Also, if one strand falls off, how many times in ones life can the same strand grow back? Is it limited or not?

    I was recently dealing with that problem because I had let my hair get too dry. Some of the good buddies in here reccomended a few great conditioners and it really makes a great difference.

    I am a Frontman for a few Rock bands and usually when I got through performing with my hair down it would take hours to untangle. Now with a quality conditioner(I used Neutrogena Triple Moisture) I brushed right through it using my fingers a little. I am finding a good comditioner really makes a difference
