Well my hair is naturally oily and it becomes oily almost the day after I wash it. I want to wash it everyday but does that damage it at all? Because I really need to wash it almost daily.
My hair gets very oily after one day as well so I wash it daily as well. What I do, seeing as how its mostly only my scalp and part line that get oily, is shampoo only those areas for only a few seconds tops, and then rinse with cold water. Then I use just a tiny bit of conditioner on my ends and work upwards, never overdoing it because then it makes my hair stringy and greasy all over again. After I condition for about 20-30 seconds I rinse that in cold water and then comb my hair and let it air dry.
Sounds like a good idea, thanks.
Sounds like a good idea, thanks. Although I can't comb my hair when it's wet because of how curly it gets.
Ah yes, I have very straight hair which is why I comb it, after the washing routine you have to just do whatever is right for you.
Believe it or not, washing your hair everyday is what is going to make it more oily. If you have an oily scalp, your body naturally tries to equalize it's oil content to how many times you wash your hair. If you wash too much, well that means that you are going to have too much oil. This does not mean stop washing your hair altogether, but rather buying a shampoo specifically for oily hair and try washing it one day, rinse only in cold water the next day, then wash it again on the 3rd day. If you do this consistently, then your body will recognize that it does not need to produce so much oil just to equalize itself with your washing consistency.
At first... maybe within the next 2 weeks, if you start at this rate of washing your hair, you will still have really oily hair. BUT THAT'S OK! Just be patient and your body will get used to it. It's just with anything really, if you change your schedule of normal day life then your body will have to cope until it becomes used to the new realm of everyday life. WHOO! Lots of typing and I feel like a dermatologist!
Later dude, and good luck with the scalp. I wish my hair was oily... It's constantly dry even when I don't wash it for 2 days. :(

Good advice from Tyler.
The more you wash the more your body will replace the oil that is stripped away.
I only wash in water except for a condition once or twice a week.
Good luck

Thanks for the advice!
I know of several who wash daily; myself being one of them. After one day my hair is oily. Also, I am outside a good bit, and active. There is no way I could go longer without washing.
You have to find out what is best for you and follow that.
