Forum presidents, moderators, etc. are the unsung heros working
behind the scenes of a successful web site. They have to keep
troublemakers from ruining the forum experience for others.
But since you are the one 'passing the torch,' this post is for you.
Thank you for your hard work and dedication to the MLHH.. As
president you took your job seriously and did even more thank
you were required to do. There were even times when you worked
when you were not feeling well (as did some other moderators
and technical experts ).
Your decisions have always been well thought out and balanced.
And though you were willing to give second chances to those
who abused their posting priveleges, you were also just as
willing to take action against those who refused to change
their ways even after they had received repeated warnings to do so .
Most importantly, and in spite of all the many problems that
were encounted on a daily basis, you r sense of humor remained
intact. Some of your posts--complete with photos--were very
funny. Who could forgot your: "snowball-in-the-hair" post!
I would like to thank you for working with me on the gift
shoppe. Couldn't have done it without you.
Glad to hear you will be staying on as a moderator! We are
lucky to have someone like you working behind the scenes.
Thank you, Justin!
Hey Luckskind
Your words have always been just so kind, and I cannot begin to thank you enough for posting what you have. Despite being a rather modest person at heart when it comes to anything having to do with myself, I appreciated what you have written to me.
I believe the 2 of us living at opposite sides of the country found this wonderful board at about the same time which would be what: 5 or 6 years ago? In any case, as long as I can remember, your postings to everyone on the board have always been so upbeat and full of so much wisdom as well as encourgement and much inspiration.
It was my pleasure to have served as the 1st President of the MLHH. Sure, there were moments here and there and problems to solve, but in the end all was worth it and I have absolutely no regrets of the time involved to assure that the board would function smoothly for all who post to it.
Thanks again Luckskind and hope you are having a great day painting up yet another masterpiece!
All the best-
Justin~
Hi Justin, being President is not easy. You need to have a lot of patience to do the job. It is something I would never be able to do. It would stress me out too much. Thanks again.
Scott
Hi Scott
Yes, it did carry a certain amount of stress and patience to be sure, but now that all is said and done I am happy that I was able to have helped-out so many guys. There is no other place on the internet that I know of that can even come close to our Hyperboard. And a special thank you to you Scott for all of the help you gave me while I was President.
Take care-
Justin~
I just want to say that Justin was not only our first president (so he was covering new ground with no precedents behind him), but also he had to see MLHH through its transition from being one man's hobby to being an organization run by a committee of its users. Few web communities run on that model (which has turned out to be wildly successful for us, by the way), so Justin was definitely treading on new ground. And from all the great comments we get from users about the social ambiance here, Justin did one hell of a job!
This did not just happen overnight. The culture among the crew had to shift from making few decisions while working for one guy who was the boss, to working for the users, making all decisions in accordance with what we felt the users would most want. This culture shift took several months to flow naturally, and it all occurred under Justin's guidance.
Kudos to Justin!
Bill
Hey Bill
Thanks so much! Yes, there was so much to cover starting from scratch and at the same time have the board function smoothly without interruption. But we did it!
And when I say "we," I think all posters should know that without your input and countless hours of setting up things so as to get everything right, all could NEVER have been done by myself all alone. As a matter of fact, it would have been impossible!
Those that read this, please know that without Bill we would NEVER be where we are today. Usually a round of applause is in order in showing appreciation..........but in Bills case several rounds of applause would still not be enough.
Thank you Bill for everything. :-)
Justin~
I can only echo everybody else, you did a great job and really set a great foundation from which the board can grow. There are only a few that can take on such a role and you nailed it!
Looking forward to moderating with you in the future my friend.
Cheers, Dave
Hey Dave
Many thanks for your kind words. Much appreciated.
Kinda feels strange no longer being the Pres., but it sure is nice being a moderator again. Which reminds me, do you think those seat covers for us are a bit worn-out and we should get new ones? LOL
Take care Dave-
Justin~
LOL!! oh definately, by the way I bagged the swivel chair with wheels while you were swopping with Kevin, hope you don't mind :-)
I couldn't have said it better myself, Luckskind, --- Justin is simply hands-down TOP DOG!!!!
Justin, I feel very fortunate to have worked with you, "back in the day".... It was a priviledge and an honor to have been part of the Moderating Team during your time as President, --- and MLHH is definitely solidly better off because of your willingness to do so much of the tough work that had to be done behind-the-scenes! BRAVO, my friend!! Many MANY thanks for such a beautiful job so superbly done!!!!!
With Much Admiration and Affection,
Ken
Ken
You have always been just the greatest. If only the users knew what outstanding things you brought along with you while moderator. Your words ARE appreciated Ken and I cannot begin to thank you enough. I must say however that all you have said about myself goes for you as well. Even more!
Take care Ken and one of these days I hope to see you down at the ranch. I happen to like Spaghetti alot, so make sure you round-up a batch of that to have ready upon arrival. Also, it has to be served on a "Bone China" plate imported from France. Naturally .9999 Sterling Silver with a gold-wash will be needed to eat the Spaghetti with. And last but not least, a Maroon napkin just in case something splatters. See, I am ALWAYS so easy to please. :-)
Justin~
ps: And don't forget the linen tablecloth along with a Tiffany Favrile Glass bowl with matching Candelsticks as the centerpiece. LOL
!
Hi Justin, and Luckskind,
First of all, Luckskind, thank you for poting this, and you could not have said it better!
And Justin, thank you for all your hard work, and mere words cannot begin to say how much myself, as well as everyone, appreciate your hard work in making the hyperboard the best place there is. The hyperboard would not be where it is now, without your guiding hand to lead the way.
Also, thank you for your wonderful friendship, ever since I discovered the hyperboard!
Take care, and my best to you,
David
Hey David
Thank you for posting what you did, and is it especially appreciated beyond all you would ever know.
Your highly valued friendship as well as all you have done for us both as moderators and a well-loved poster to the Hyperboard can hardly be topped. I am just at a loss for words as to how to thank you eonugh for everything.
You have always been the most perfect gentleman with a true sense of caring for others. Such a rare combination this day and age.
Always my best to you-
Justin~
