hey dudes, well im on a quest to grow my hair long. i want it to be shoulder length, straight down, parted in the middle. the last haircut i had was 2 months ago. it was shaved on the sides and back, and very short on top the preppy look). my hair is now very thick and wavy on top and the sides and back are starting to come in a lot thicker. my questions are:
-should i just let it grow, or should i trim the back and sides until my top covers most of my head.
-is their anyway to make my hair not so thick? does not shampooing and only conditioning really work?
any other tips would be appreciated. thanks a lot.

By all means let it grow now to your desired length. Only then should you trim it.
Sing to the tune of "Let it Snow," - "Let it Grow, Let it Grow, Let it Grow." Only cut it when it gets to the length you desire; or it won't get there.

I suggest you keep up regular shampoo habits (once every one or two days) while your hair is short or it will look greasy (this is from my experience). You could condition every day and shampoo every other day. When your hair does get longer you might gradually go to conditioning every day to every other day and shampoo only once a week because you will only need it that often but we're talking long, long hair so it'll be a little while.
It's ok to experiment a little to see how often you think you need to shampoo.
