Hi guys , sorry I havent been around much lately, Wednesday Moring I woke up with tremendous pain in my right lower back, shuddering chils and nausea, I went right to the emergency room where they found a kidney stone, They just sent me home with some pain meds and a mesh thingy to see if the stones pass. After I got home I developed a high fever. My doctor gave me antiibiotics for that and said I might have to see a urologist.Does anybody have experience with this, If it doesn't pass, what do I do? Brothers and Sisters any help would be appreaciated

Todd B., I'm so sorry that you're going through this. While I haven't gone through this myself, two close family members have. One of them passed it fairly easily. The other had to have an ultrasonic (non-invasive and painless) treatment that caused the stone to break up into tiny crystals, and then it passed quickly after that.
Drink lots of cranberry juice, if you can.
I hope that you're well soon.

Hi Todd,
First of all, I am genuinely sorry to hear about this, and you can count on my prayers and support. The best thing for now is to do what Franny has told you, since she always gives excellent advice.
Take care,
David
Thanks David for the prayer offer. When you have such terrible pain prayer is deffinatly needed

Thanks Bro I would gladly stick with tea and water if it ment no more pain like this
Todd
I'm sorry to hear you are going through this. My wife had a kidney stone and she said it's more painful than child birth! She passed it in a couple of days and I hope you will also. Drink plenty of water w/ a bit of lemon juice. that'll help now and help to prevent them in the future. Oh yah, did they tell you if you developed one now, that you're prone to them in the future?
Best of luck
Bruce
Thanks Bruce, Yes I have heard that you can become prone to them

Hi Todd B.
What a bummer and so sorry to hear of this. My own mother often said that a Kidney Stone was the worst pain she had ever known. The operation for removal back then was dreadful if the stone could not be passed, and she had to have the operation.
Hope you can pass it, but if not, as Franny has said they now have ultrasound and the hideous operation of years ago is no more.
My best to you in passing that thing and feeling well again just as soon as can be.
Justin~
Thanks so much Justin

Here is a link to a non surgical method of breaking up kidney stones. It uses high energy sound waves to shatter kidney stones into tiny pieces that will pass with little pain.
