While finishing up work on my H.H. Scott LK-60B, I noticed that one of the rectifiers was bad, and was quite shocked that the unit was even working.
For those who don't know electronics, a rectifier is a device that converts alternating current, the type used in house holds, into direct current needed by the amplifier circuitry.
I decided to replace both as I didn't have any spares like the originals. When I removed the good one, I noticed that it would make one heck of a interesting ear ring. LOL
Since I don't have my ears pierced, I don't plan on doing it, but the though did hit me. It would add to my weirdness factor to have an old silicon rectifier dangling from my ear.
Yeah man! One thing I've learned as an engineer--chicks are way into electronic components! =P
