Apparently, the NFL is in talks about restricting hair length.

Hello,
In the wpxi.com article from Pittsburgh people were allowed to vote on whether the NFL should ban long hair on the playing field. It seems (even though it is an unscientific vote) that 68% voted to allow the players to keep their hair.
I hope the coaches will follow the wishes of the fans when they vote a month from now.
I am not a football fan, by the way, but anything that puts longhairs visible in the public eye is good.
I do feel that rules like those put forward will only demonize longhairs, and justify more workplaces and high schools to enforce hair length codes.
Antother country that enforced hair length restrictions on their football players (soccer), is Iran.
Have a good day,
Georges in Montreal.
That's the last one I'll post. People can google for more if they want.
And yet another article
There is also a thread started about three days ago that discusses this.

Oh Boy, here they go! they just couldn't stand the African desent players with the long Dreds. I know there are also some white players with long hair ala Jeremy Shockey (from my own WORLD CHAMPION NY GIANTS!!!)yayyyyy
It is mostly the Black guys though, I wonder if racism isn't rearing it's ugly head in this matter. I mean is it a safety issue. Has any defensive player tried to grab a running back by his dreds?? Thats the onlt reason I can see to restrict it is if it's a safety issue. Other than that leave them guys alond and let them express themselves
They are and they aren't. My understanding is it won't mandate a hair cut, but will require the hair to be tucked in. Apparently this was brought on by an incident with the
Bengals.
...'cause putting their names on their helmets, down their legs or across their asses...or across the front of the jersey...would be too difficult I suppose.
Hair Religion
Correct me if i'm wrong but I believe it is already on the
helmet.
I said I wouldn't post any other articles, but this one hadn't been written yet.
