The last haircut I had was in mid-August. My hair is long, but, alas, not long enough to look good. Now, one person of the female persuasion has already refused to meet up with me explicitly because I don't have short hair. Obviously, this is an anomaly, and it doesn't bother me too much, but it made me wonder. There must be something I can do to keep the long hair at bay. I get the odd good hair day, but most of the time it looks horrible. What can I do? I'm definitely not cutting it.
Scroll down the hyperboard and see nuttidave's string: "How Buff are you?" The buff may be the answer for you! Check the other postings in that string, people like the "Buff!" When you google Buff Hair, one option that pops up is www.PlanetBuff.com. I've just got to make up my mind as to selection. Chilly-O
If you could possibly do this (as a number of us have), all would be a breeze for you in the growing-out process and would free you of all you are going through.
Turn everything around so that you enjoy the look of the day no matter what it is, crazy, wild, and even at times very unique as you are moving along in your journey to being a longhair.
This will make all very enjoyable throughtout the whole journey and will be a source of enjoyment and fun!
Alas, so many guys can get so hung-up with "perfection" when work is in progress. In only 2+ years from start to finish you will have arrived and your hair will automatically on its own look super.
Best of luck to you.
At the same stage hair gel was my friend. Although every now and then I'd have catastrophic hair product failure which I was able to laugh about.

I'll second that - Fruit of the Earth (FOTE) clear aloe vera gel was (and is) my product of choice - not sticky, and washes out with minimal build up.

Today's hairstyles for men include the messy look. I say add a bit of spiking gel and mess it up for the bed head look.
One option is find other females to meet up with. There's many fish in the sea.

Probably not much help to you Fred, but if someone doesn't like my hair then its tough. The ones that do like it are the only friends I need.

This is amusing to me, because I prefer men with long hair, I've even turned down a few guys because they had short hair (ok that wasn't the only reason, but I would have forgiven the other faults if they had long hair), but all the longhairs in my life are just friends. *sigh*
Can you post a picture? If we see your hair we can come up with better suggestions to improve or cope with it until it's longer.
