Hey everyone
It's been 2 years and 3 months since I've gotten a haircut. This is what my curly mess looks like these days. As always, Thank you all for the support throughout these 2 years. If it wasn't for you all, I don't think I would've made it this far.
Your "curly mess" looks wonderful Chris. You are getting hanging ringlets now. Those ringlets should get more defined with added length.
Have you tried water only for washing your hair? This works well on curly hair. I use water only on my beard.

Thanks for the compliments man. I haven't tried the water only routine yet. It's awfully muggy where I live and I tend to sweat alot. I'll at least have to use some conditioner or something I guess. Anyway, can you explain the routine in detail? I'm quite interested in trying it out.
Hi Chris, I use water only on my beard. I just rinse it thoroughly with warm water while gently rubbing my face to lift loose skin flakes. This same method can be done on your scalp.
It is very muggy in Florida so you may have to do this daily or every two days. One nice thing is that curly hair dries fast. (My beard dries in minutes.)

I can't believe I've made it this far. Quite shocking! It seems to me as if I started growing it just yesterday.
Fantastic Chris, you and I are about the same time in growing out. That is great length and those curls are amazing. Well done sir on keeping it growing it must have been tough in the early months with such curls and seemingly having little growth.

Thanks wildman! Yea, it was tough indeed. The early awkward stage was a nightmare for me. I remember asking myself "will these curly suckers ever hang, or will it always stay poofy"? Apparently, the little curly suckers are losing the battle against gravity. lol.

I can't wait to see that update you just spoke about. Last time I saw one of your updates was a long time ago where you had finally revealed your eyes to the world! Take care Matt and hope all is well with you. I hope that recent catastrophe in Atlanta didn't affect you, I heard it was devastating.
They really did have lots of bad weather to come through and destroy lots of property. However, I'm a lot closer to Florida than I am Atlanta. That night they had all the tornadoes it was barely breezy here.

Thanks for asking! I'm thinking of doing an update in April (21 months), but I don't post updates too often these days since an extra half-inch doesn't chance things as much as it used too. I've also been moderately busy and haven't even kept up on my own archive of hair photos as much.

It's always a pleasure to see an update from you and look at you get seeing your hair developing some wonderful looking ringlets there. That's the great thing about growing your hair out as you never know what texture or how it's going to look and it's a real pleasure to see. Just think if you had short hair you never see that change and wouldn't life just be so boring. Keep ing growing mate and look forward to see your future progress.

Wow, that is much longer than I thought it was! I think it interesting that the curls seem to have control over the bottom portion, but not much say in how the top half operates. Is it just the weight of the hair or is there some styling involved?

Thanks for the compliments Shawn. It is indeed interesting how my hair operates. What I do right after I get out of the shower is slick it all back with a wide-tooth comb. I just comb it all straight back and it turns out like that after it dries. No mousse, no gel, nada. I occasionally center part it and the results are practically the same. Maybe a little more volume.
Not all of my hair is curly. The top portion of my hair is slightly wavy. It is totally different that the bottom portion of my hair. It's almost as if I have multiple hair types! Really strange. Well, I hope this makes sense. lol
Nice looking long curls, Chris.....I think a pirate cap would top that off nicely ! HA!
