Hi My name is Joe. I just started posting. I posted a topic about 2 days ago about how should i treat my damaged split ends. The picture that is included is of my newly trimmed hair. It's about 2 inches past my shoulder. I've been growing it for 24 months (2 years). The 1/2 inch trim greatly put my hair back into shape. Before it seemed like there was no life at the ends of my hair.
Thanks for all the support. Thank you MLHH council for this wonderful communtiy site.
Sincerely...
Joe
Hi Joe,
First of all, I would like to welcome you to the hyperboard, and am delighted that you have joined our community. Your trim went very well, and your hair looks in excellent condition after it. With your hair's thickness, you should be able to grow it as long as you wish.
Keep it growing,
David
Thank you Dave.
Sorry for the blurry picture. I will soon get a better picture of it once i get the chance to. My hair looks a whole lot better than in that blurry picture i'll be in a better lighting also. And yes i am keeping it growing! I hated having short hair. It looked to boring and it seemed like every other short haired guy looked like they were a product of a brainwashing working for corperation. Plus i also play drums and guitar so my long hair suits me very well. My goal is to at least get it to my mid back. I'll give it another year and a half to at least be that long. I don't have a problem waiting anymore because 2 years of growth is already long and it looks good for me.
Thanks again Dave. I'll soon post a better picture of my trimmed hair. I'm keeping it growing, Joe.
Ah, that wasn't so bad then and it looks good.
Kevin
I feel the need to lightly point out that hair is dead already. XD
I know you probably knew that, but I found it amusing (odd sense of humor). Anyway, your hair looks great, and it's good to have another new member of the hyperboard!
HAHAHA yes!! That's the same way I am. I laughed for about 5 minutes straight also when i read that. I have a weird sense of humor also. I also use those stupid puns (play on words). BUT AS i know the ends were just brittle and hard. But thanks for the compliment.
Don't be a fool and cut your hair...
Jøe.
Looks really good, Joe! You've got some great hair and it will only continue to look better. Welcome to the board, btw, as I didn't get a chance to properly say so before. =)

Looks great!! A trim to eradicate split ends at 2 years can be a good idea. I did a trim at three and I am very happy with it. Maybe another in a year or two.
Looks great, Joe. Thanks for sharing, and welcome to the MLHH!

I dunno I'm kinda split in this one (no pun intended) I read a year or two ago where it says on one of the long hair sites...
DO NOT TRIM YOUR HAIR! its a myth that it grows faster.
I dont know if it even helps the ends. Dont they eventually return to thier raggedy state?
I'm so confused about this issue.
sO FAR i HAVE RESISTED trimming. I have tried damage products, better conditioner, olive oil on the ends but nothing really seems to make a big difference

For those who want to gain long hair the fasted, it is best to start-out for at least the 1st couple of years with no trim. After that one might or might not benifit from a slight dusting in case they are prone to split ends which can really make having long hair a nightmare of tangles and knots. And yes, it is a myth believed by many that when your hair is cut it grows faster.
Depending on your hair type, the raggedy ends (usually splits) will return "in time." How much time? It varies all over the place depending on the persons hair. Some can go many many years with no troubles at all.
Many have been confused in the past about this.
If you have been trying all of these things and having no luck, you might want to consider what Joe has done. The most you can lose is about 1/2 inch provided that the one who does your hair isn't a butcher. Search with care until you can find a person who you know will do just what you want and nothing more.

Well I cant say Ive had no luck at all the methods I metions have made my hair somewhat easier to handle but haven't alleviated the problem all together
Hi Joe and welcome to the MLHH. Glad you found us.
Your hair is looking terrific and yes, after a long enough time goes by a slight trim or dusting can do wonders........especially in getting rid of split-ends which can cause tangles and knots galore.
Again welcome. It's great to have you here.

Joe, your hair is awesome!! I love it man. Do you have myspace or facebook?
Yes my URL is www.myspace.com/guitarsforeternity
Your hair looks great Joe. That 1/2" trim really helped a lot. It looks fantastic and you should be able to grow it quite a bit longer with a minimum of hassles now.
