Hello people,
I've been interested in growing my hair for a quite a bit now and I find this forum rather interesting!
Its been 3 months since i got a hair cut done. I still wonder how I'd look with long hair because my hair is so totally curly and messy!
I would highly appreciate it if you could pass on some valuable tips (which are not part of the RAQ section!)
Welcome Kartic: I wish I has nice thick curly hair like that. I bet it will be really cool when it grows out. Maybe it will even be a big Afro (sweet!!)
My advice is simple.....JUST LET IT GROW! Don't cut,Trim, style, stay away from the scissors completely. as you go through the akward stage where it seems impossible to do anything with, maybe you could get some gel or something to keep it down.In the end you will be rewarded with a great head of hair
Todd,
Thats some really reassuring words of confidence. I never thought having thick and curly hair would look when I grow it out completely.
I was wondering if I should change my hair style while it grows out though!
And I've decided to buy some nice conditioner as well (thanks to you guys.) I'm off to the store!
Later
Curly hair is harder to grow out, but looks fuller when is has grown out. While you're in the akward stage you can use hats or bandana's, gel is also an option but try to avoid that.
Good luck with growing out, well see how it will turn out.
Sorry for the delay in posting a reply.
Welcome aboard, Kartic!
Curly hair has its challenges and it seems to take forever for it to look long when dry. It seems about everyone with straight hair posting their 15 month photos or so appear to have longer-hanging hair than me. (And I will be reaching my two year mark at the end of April).
Have patience, condition frequently and be gentle with your hair and your expectations. It is growing already. Trust that it will get long in time.
It is great to have another curly head amongst us.
