  Hey! There's a long time since my last update. So here's a pic of my progress of 28 months. I got rid of the beard, it was making me look sad. Having curly hair is awful to show lenght, so I decided to straighten it. Not too bad for almost 44 years old... I guess... My last haircut was in Dec 2005 (shaved) and last small trim in Sep 2007. I still want to grow it to my waist. In the back it's almost in the middle of my back, in front it doesn't look that long due the trim in layers last year. Is that looking good? Hugs to all!

    Looks good man.. I personally like the look without the beard. It makes you look alot younger. Just my little ol opinion though. The length of your hair is really looking nice.. Keep up the great work..

      Hi Tristan, I am a big fan of all types of facial hair and I like that for me too, but I looked like I was always sad with the full beard, not mentioning I looked older, then I decided to go on with a smooth look for a while. I also know I would look even younger with short hair, but that I won't do. Cutting my hair is not something that I want to do so soon. Thanks a lot for the comments, it means a lot to me. In fact I don't if I would able to make it without all the opinions always positive I find here on this board. Hugs!!! Thanks again!!!

    Your progress is quite visable with the straightened hair, you've got some great mane there. I liked your old look better, but experimenting with different looks is always fun.

      Thanks a lot, Vincent. I like the old look too, but as I said before I was looking sad and older, and that wasn't making me happy. It's just for a while. I doubt that I keep the shaved look for too long, I love facil hair too, but I don't think that matches a lot with my personality, the opposite occurs with long hair, it has everything to do with me. Thanks for writting and say what you thought. I like to hear all the opinions. Hugs!!!

      Hey Jason. That means a lot to me, because despite being one of my "muses" of long hair here, I know how you fought to grow your hair long, since it was kind of short. So comments from you and the other guys are always good to read. I saw your update pics today and man, your hair is really inspiring!!! You deserved that marvelous mane!! Congrats!!! Thanks again for writting and for the comments. Hug!!!

      That's a big jump in length from the last photo I saw of your hair. It's really looking great. I'm sure you'll get to waist length with no problems.

    I have been wondering where you were Walter !

    First; your new look is great. I think you can go either way with the facial hair and straightening does show length and a different look which I like. There is no way you look 44...not even close (I put you in your late twenties). Many on this board may not agree with straightening, but personally, I think anything in moderation is OK....did you have it done professionally?

    Now, as I have said often, if your smile could be cloned, we would have World Peace ! HA! Seriously, noticing your smile made be aware of how self conscious I was of having some crooked, chipped teeth. The mustache and closed lipped smile have been an attempt to cover this......so based on your inspiration and at the cost of purchasing a third world country, one of my retirement presents to me (from me) was a permanent 4 tooth bridge. I am delighted and think it looks natural (?). Now, the question is...Do I lose the stash?

I like that new smile, a man like you always in good humor has to smile all the time, good decision. About the stache, I'm not sure...         You asked if I did it professionaly. Kind of... One of my hobbies is to play the hairdresser sometimes. I had so many bad results going to some of them that I decided to do some things by myself. I used professional product from WELLA, though. It's called Wellastrate. It comes in two ways Intense (for non-colored hair) and Suave (for colored hair), so I opted for the second one. I use that in my friend's hair for many times, it was recommended by one of our friends who was a teacher at one of the most important beauty schools in Brazil. It worked well, but some of the ends in the fringe got a little elastic when dump, because of the highlights I did last year (they strongly recommend to avoid using the products that were dyed with oxygen water over 20 volumes, but I ignored the recommendation, deliberately). Well, anyway I got the hair straight as I wanted. if it's necessary I'll trim the damaged tips, but only if necessary, so far so good, they're well when the hair is dry. That's it... hugs, Walter!

      Hi there Max. Thanks a lot for the words. I'm enjoying it straight. I love the curls, but this ways is easier to keep, not necessary to wash everyday, it doesn't get tangled like it did before and strange, it also looks fuller than before. Cheers!!! Hug!!!

    Well your hair looks outstanding straightened even though when it was curly it looked good on you as well.And NO you don't look sad especially with that smile.LOL.I have to admit I never heard of having a beard making one look sad.Regardless you look great at 44 as I'm in that same neighborhood myself:) Maybe I'll be lucky and age as well as Mick Jagger has fared since he's in his 60s I've heard.Great update as it has been awhile so don't take so long before doing another.Take care my friend.

      Hey Mark, thanks for the compliments. I fell great with the longer hair and I'm not missing the beard yet. I love facial hair too, but I really looked like sad and tired, all my friends were asking things like "is everything ok? You look tired. You look sad", so came up to the conclusion that the combination of my sad eyes and full longer beard were making me look that way. It might be silly, but it's working so far. Oh, and you can't imagine how difficult is to keep your hair long and a beard during the hot summer in Brazil, under a sun of 40º degrees centigrades! Believe me it's like hell!! hehehe I'll never give up about my long hair, but I really don't care too much about facial hair for me, even loving it. So the beard had to say bye-bye. Anyway, I liked you liked the hair the way it is now, and thanks again for the posting!!! Hug, take care!!!!

    Great looking my man! Maybe 10x better if i envisioned you with short hair. My hair is about as long as yours im at 24 and 1/2 months. I had a trim about 2 weeks ago and it's roughly about shoulder lenght. Great Update and talk to ya soon!

      Hey Joe, thanks for the posting. In fact I look very good with short hair, but I definitely don't feel like beeing me in short hair. Long hair is part of my personality. Personally I love facial hair too, but having it or not doesn't make a huge difference to me, but head hair is totally ME. Thanks again for the positive comments!!! Hug!!!

        Oi Matt. Não entendi se gosta ou não da barba... Minha barba não é cheia como a sua, então não fica tão bonita quando cresce mais e estava muito branca também. Enfim, mais "contras" que "prós". Por isso tirei.
        Perdi 5 Kg. (uns 10 pounds) desde o Natal. Comi muita salada sim, mas não passei fome não. Fiz saladas com peito de peru, vários tipos de alface, rúcula, agrião, queijos e molho de limão, mostarda e mel. Isso me ajudou a perder peso. O cabelo melhorou com a dieta também. E seu cabelo como anda? Muito comprido? Obrigado pelos comentários. Abração!!!

    Hey! There's a long time since my last update. So here's a pic of my progress of 28 months. I got rid of the beard, it was making me look sad. Having curly hair is awful to show lenght, so I decided to straighten it. Not too bad for almost 44 years old... I guess... My last haircut was in Dec 2005 (shaved) and last small trim in Sep 2007. I still want to grow it to my waist. In the back it's almost in the middle of my back, in front it doesn't look that long due the trim in layers last year. Is that looking good? Hugs to all!
