Hey everyone...i just had a quick question about dryness in wavy/curly hair..
i was on here about 2 weeks ago and got some really good advice on getting my hair groomed back, but my hair just can't seem to keep its moisture..ive tried oils and gel, but oils don't really seem to work for me, and the gel makes my hair feel 2 hard, so i try not to use it unless i absolutely have to...what do you guys recommend for my hair?..are there any well known products that give hair moisture?..because that's what i really need-moisture. I say "well known" products because I want something easy to find that I could buy at a local store or hair salon, instead of going on an online hunt for something i've never heard of..sorry if it sounds like im being too picky, but i really have no idea what's good for moisture..
any suggestions and/or tips would be greatly appreciated!
thanks!!
-Chris
I use a olive oil hair lotion,it works well for my customers whom have extremely dry/frizzy hair,it also works well if you use it after you towel dry your hair,it may make it a bit greasy but you can wash it out the next day without any hassle.
Hi Chris, there is a Shampoo and Conditioner called Mane'n Tail and sold at Wal-Mart. Although it's for horses, I've been hearing a lot of good comments on it from people that use it and on the bottle is says for humans too. I'm not trying to be funny or make lite of dry hair conditions. I've checked out it ingredents and it doesen't seem to have any toxic stuff in it. I'm thinkin of giving it a try.
Just a thought.

Thanks for the advice Frank..and actually believe it or not I used to use mane n tail when i started growing out my hair (about a year ago) and it worked great-until it finished..come to think of it, my hair wasn't as frizzy when I used to use mane n tail...when it finished i decided to try out garnier fructis, (since i wanted mane n tail only to help speed up the awkward stage) but garnier doesn't seem to work AS good.. i might go back to mane n tail..thanks!..oo and..do you advise rinsing out or leaving in the (mane n tail) conditioner?
-Chris
I believe it says after sitting in your hair 2-3 mins. to rinse it out. If you need a leave in conditioner, you could try 1/4 conditioner to 3/4 water in a spray bottle. Jojoba Oil is doin wonders on my dry curly/wavey hair. A teaspoon of oil to my wet hair and letting it air dry keeps it from bloomin out after it dry. My hair is better condition than my avatar pic I took back in 1/08.
Frank
thanks for the advice!..do you know where i can get jojoba oil though?
..and do you leave in or rinse out your conditioner?..I ask because my hair is very similar to yours in your avatar and maybe what do you to your hair will work for mine
O yes, I rinse it out with cool water, then pat dry my hair with the towel. I main apply the Jojoba Oil in my hands and rub it in from about ear level down to the ends, then pull my hair behind my ears and put a ball cap on.
You can get Jojoba Oil at a GNC or health stores, it's about $10 for 4oz. I'm getting mine from Amazon.com, I found a 16oz. bottle for $15, it should be here tomorrow. I've only got about another 3-4" in length to go before I reach my max length.
Hoping your hair journey is a good one!
Frank
