Hi guys
I had a fairly substantial trim to my hair a couple of weeks ago. Don't worry, it's still long. It was about half way down my back but I've had it pruned back to shoulderblade length. This is the optimum length for me and I think it looks the best this way - any longer and it just loses its appeal?
Any further discussion on favourite lengths?

My answer to your question would be: Never!
But then, first, it's all up to you; and second, I never had such extreme lengths that made think it could be too much.
All I can say is that, at present, my tailbone length feels sooo good! I'll check later with some inches added..
I'm at the point where I do think it's 'too much' :(
It's at waist length now, or just shy of it, and although I'm tempted to grow it to 'belt level', it is getting to me.
1. I find myself wearing it in a ponytail more times than not, which defeats the purpose of having long hair IMO, and makes washing the hair and caring for it, a waste of time, if it will end up in a tail.
2. And if it is loose, I don't know, I guess it doesn't suit me as much *shrugs*
I'm worse than a woman when it comes to deciding to trim it or not. LOL
Well mine is almost at belt level and I tend it keep mine untied most of the time except whe nI'm at work and it does not bother me. I suppose we all have to find the right length we are happy with. Both sexes have the same choice.
Cheers,

Mine is waist length and I'd like to grow it to tailbone length if I can. I mostly wear it loose, sometimes putting it in a braid.
OTOH, my hair has been both fine and thin all my life, so I have very little volume. Somebody with thick and coarse hair might feel differently, as they would really have much more hair than I do even if it was the same length.
Waist to Belt Level for me. Currently at belt level.
Currently I'm at tailbone and wouldn't go any shorter.. I'm gonna let it grow and see where it ends up at. And as far as the whole who likes what lenghts etc.. it's all back to the "beauty is in the eye of the beholder"... If you're happy with what you have then that's all that matters!

It's all personal opinion, what you're willing to work with. I wouldn't dictate to another on hair length or style, but *for my own personal head of hair* I don't want the fading ends as a permanent thing. My game plan is for terminal, just to see where that is, then cutting back to wherever I'm most comfortable. I've never had it longer than waist, that's about my minimum, I think, to be able do either up-do's or keep it down. As for a maximum, I think if it's dragging on the floor, such that I have to have it up all the time, then it's too long. I don't know what my happy medium will be, half the fun will be to find out.
Well for me I'd rather keep it as long as it will grow as currently I'm at waist length.Even though I have it tailed most of the time I still like to know that at the end of the day I can remove the tie and let my hair be free.As long as the quality is there too I see no reason to shorten it as well.

My hair's about mid back just now, and I wear it in a plait most of the time as it tends to get caught in things and snap or get tangled up and snap. The plus point of this is that very few people realise just how long it is and how much there is of it, so when I unleash it, the effect is quite dramatic.
I certainly haven't reached the too much of a good thing stage yet. I don't know if I ever will, although I'm going to have to rethink what I do with it for badminton now as I'm getting smacked in the eyes if I turn my head quickly - not the best thing to happen in a match! Still, the last match of the season is tomorrow night, so I'll have a few months to figure something out before it really becomes an issue.
I'm going to see my dad for the first time in a year in a couple of weeks' time. I'm sure he'll have something to say about it as it's now longer than my sister's, and about four inches longer than I grew it last time. He certainly had plenty to say about it then, but tough. It's my hair and so far, I'm enjoying it.
I recently trimmed my hair to about shoulderblade length as well, after having it about midback length. I have to say im really liking it at this length, more than before. It's alot healthier, and easier to leave down and everything. Once it grows in a bit more again, i might even get a layered kind of thing. I like the length, but the longer bangs are a little bothersome for me.
But, i haven't really put much thought into that. I've just been enjoying my new hair length. =3
