Finally starting to get it somewhat under control as we head down the final stretch to a year of growth from bald. The awkward stage is really making me want to cut it right now, but like always, it'll pass and you'll be better for it. Some of my friends are starting to say I got hair like some young pictures of Cobain too LOL!
It looks fine man!! the next 6 months to a year, depending on how it grows will be truly annoying. But stick it out buy some hats or somethin and ENDEAVOR TO PERSEVERE.

Good job on almost hitting a year.. I was the same way... grew mine out from a shaved head.. check out my 20 month update below to see about where you'll be in another 8 months..
Just don't cut it; stick to it and you'll end up with a great mane..

Looks great man! We can no longer see your ears and your bang area is reaching your eyes, I remember those days. The next years can only bring more hair.
Don't give in to chopping now as your well on your way. I only trimmed once during the awkward phase as I had a mullet forming. If you feel the need to trim, don't touch the front or sides!
You have a great head of hair to work with, Mike! Very full & thick, nice color, shiny, etc.... In fact, the color of your hair pretty much looks about how like mine used to be (before it turned grey)... Enjoy it, --- and have fun celebrating your 1-year hair anniversary!!!

Yep, most of us had to go through that awkward fase. And it gets really frustrating at times, but think about what will come next and not about how it is now. And also don't listen to people who say you need to cut it, prove to yourself you've got a strong character and they will all be jalous once you've got those beautiful shiny long locks!
Thanx for the replies and support guys!!! One question though, looking at how short it still is, would it be possible to use my mom's flat-iron to straighten it out some, or does it need to be a litle longer?
Nice update and your hair really looks good being in the akward stage, it doesn't flip up or something. Only the bangs can be anoying but that will pass. Looking forward to your one year update!
