What a great trip I had a blast and it was great to meet some of the gang.
You know how it is though you need a vacation to rest from your vacation. So I'm resting today and will load up more pics later
this evening.
Kevin
The meet up with Bill, Ken, Myself, Ray, and Rick. Ray and I had our hair in tails as it was a bit windy out.
Here's my hair (I do have hair) as I'm overlooking the bay.
Ray's hair, he has better hair than I do :-(
So I screwed up the descriptions below the pics you get the idea
which is which.
(Grin)
Kevin
Hi Kevin,
How lovely and some great pics of the bay area and looks like you all had a great time.
Cheers,
John.B
Thanks John
We did have a great time and took a tour bus up to the redwoods.
Gotta love the tour buses, they almost didn't let us on cause our hair wasn't white and we didn't have one foot in the grave yet. It beat driving though.
(grin)
Kevin
Kevin,
I didn't realize our hair was that long. I pictured it more shoulder length. Looking good! :-)
Someday I will have to come visit as I would like to meat the gang out in SF.
Mike
Thanks Mike
I reccomend not driving if you visit as public trans is great and driving is expensive. We had no trouble getting anywhere quickly even at rush hour.
Hope all is going well with your house.
Take Care
Kevin
Hi Kevin,
Thank you for sharing these absolutely fabulous photos! I can tell you all had a grand time, and what beautiful photos of San Francisco. Of course, the hair on everyone is looking awesome as well. In a year or so, if all goes according to plan, perhaps I might even visit the West Coast!
Take care,
David
Hi David
As I was wearing a leather jacket my hair didn't contrast but
Rays hair is much longer and thicker. When you do your tour of the continent you must visit SF and Justin in Oregon two very beautiful
places. Plan on spending some time there as there;'s so much to do and see.
Thanks for your kind words
Kevin
Hi Kevin,
I already have palns to visit both San Francisco, and am definitely planning to meetup with Justin in Oregon as well. I don't know if you saw my update that I posted early last week, since it is about halfway down the board by now. Hopefully, I will have a chance to meet you at some point in the future, if you are not too far off the route of my planned road trip.
Take care,
David
Hi again, Kevin,
Thank you for your email which I just noticed, and I will reply later today!
Take care,
David
that is awesome! im glad you had a good time out there Kevin thanks for sharing the pictures man! so many cool longhairs!
Your right Mark many cool longhairs all over out there it's a great place.
Thanks
Kevin
Hey Kevin,
I really enjoyed the meet photos and what amazing long hair you have! Thanks for sharing.
Jason
Hi Jason
I wish we had more time for a proper photo shoot but did pretty good in a pinch. Next time we go we'll have some weekend time when more people can come out and we'll go to a park or the Haight or something.
As for the hair it just keeps growing and I don't trim anymore since I'm about at terminal it'll trim itself via shedding. Ray does still get the occasional trim as he doesn't want it much longer than where it's at.
One of these days I'll get out to the east coast as I haven't been there yet except Florida if that counts.
Take care
Kevin
Hi Kevin and welcome back!I bet that week went by so fast it must have seemed like it was over before you knew it.Thats the trouble with short vacations as they just never seem long enough.Anyway I'm glad to hear you had a great time and meeting the legends of the mlhh had to be awesome. The pics are fantastic especially the group shot.If you have more pics please do post them.Well now the hard part... getting back into that old rut again:(LOL.Take care my friend:)
Mark
Thanks Mark
I know what you mean as I sit here replying Monday morning I start
work Monday night and have an 8 day stretch since we have inventory next weekend. What fun.
I'll get the pics up in scattered posts so as not to clutter up the board much. So stay tuned.
Kevin
Hey Kevin, thanks for sharing those great pics. Glad you had a good time. You are all looking great. Your long hair is amazing!
Cheers,
Max
Thanks Max
keep an eye out there's more hair to come.
Kevin
And fine looking hair on all.....great group photo...and the Golden Gate Bridge photos are taken from one of my favorite spots in the world.....I have spent many a happy day exactly where you are standing.
Thanks for Sharing ! Now get some rest from your "vacation" HA!
Walter
I can see why that's your favorite spot, my first thought was get camera out quick.
I'll rest up from vacation at work all week.
Next visit I'll give more lead time if you can make it and on a weekend so more can get out. We must all wear the White Tail hat,
it's tradition.
Thanks Walter
Kevin
Darn...
I'm only an hour and a half from SF (bay traffic pending...ha ha)...
If only if I can get out of the valley for just a bit ;)
Someday, Though...
I still cannot believe how nice it looks over there in SF...I mean, the weather is the same here in the valley, but man! Its so clear and nice..I can literally smell the sea breeze now!
Looks like you guys had a rocking time!
Thanks for sharing,
-DDude :)
It's not always clear but we were lucky to have perfect weather.
SF the air conditioned city, it was warmer in the redwoods.
Just wait for the Alcatraz pics.
Kevin
I do have to note though....you guys have it good compared to us inland guys...
I mean, every time i go back east, when I fly back home, I usually fly into Oakland or SF, and this is in mid-august---its funny how it can be 60-70 degrees in Oakland, and as soon as you hit the altamont pass into the central valley, it gets dry and its nearly 100 degrees!
So funny for such little milage ;P
Ken was right, SF is a little slice of heaven on earth...
How happy I am that you had such a great time in SF Kevin and even met-up with Bill, Ken and Rick. You have superb long hair to be sure as does Ray and everybody else.
Welcome back! :-)
Justin~
ps: Fabulous photos.
Thanks Justin
I'm sure you would have loved to join us but a long drive for you I'm sure. It would have been great to meet you as well but I can do that on my next trip. Oregon also a beautiful place and high on my list so get ready.
Kevin
Hey Kevin,
What great pics!!! It was really nice to finally meet you & Ray, --- I'm just sorry I was so late in arriving at the restaurant...
Funny story: I just TODAY found out that either you or Ray left me a text message on my cel phone. It was Even who told me about it, saying, "Do you realize you have a text message on your cell?"
ME: "I don't know how to text message, or how to retrieve one... Could you read it to me?"
EVEN: "Sure... But, you need to learn how to do this yourself someday... Hey! Who's Kevin??"
ME: "Kevin? I don't know anybody named Kevin... Hmmmm... None of my dance partners are named Kevin... Nobody at work is named Kevin... I'm not secretly seeing anybody named Kevin... OH! Yes!! Why, of course, how could I forget THAT Kevin, --- our President of the MLHH!!!!!"
EVEN: But, you still don't know how to text message a reply back to him, do you?"
ME: (Blushing) "No... But, hey, I can write him on the board (lol)!!"
--- All kidding aside, it was really wonderful to meet you & Ray.... Just stay in SF longer next time you visit, OK? (lol)
Long Lox 4ever,
Ken ("Ken who?? - lol)
Good to see you there, Ken! That was a great group shot that Larry got, and of course the Golden Gate Bridge is always a star, even without being decorated with manes!
Yeah, to me text messaging would be pointless, too. I replaced my Novice ham ticket in 1963 with a General class ticket so I could talk with my mouth instead of my fingers. Typing e-mails is different because you can use all your fingers without looking at the keyboard and you can send at a decent speed; I've been e-mailing since 1986.
I wouldn't know what to do with a text message if I got one; I probably would not ever notice it there. That's also often the case if someone leaves a message on the phone. It may lie there for days before I notice it. My friends know that and that if I am not home to call me back when I am. That is what people did for a century on the phone, and darned if it still doesn't work!
That they make cell phones with tiny buttons and displays which an old guy can't read doesn't make them of much interest to a guy our age either. I am not going to go hunt down my glasses just to answer the telephone.
I really laugh at people watching TV shows on their cell phones. We just got a 52 inch HDTV for Christmas, and I can't imagine why anyone would want to get a tiny TV. Isn't the idea nowadays to get a big one? We put up with tiny TVs in the 1950s, but no need for that now.
Our cell phone is also too small to put one end over your ear and the other end over your mouth. So I can hear it, I line up the receiver end with my ear, then the mouthpiece is buried in my beard someplace, but I never know where because I can't feel it there. People often complain that they can't hear me because the transmitter end of the cell phone is not near my mouth.
I guess I could leave the cell phone and a pair of glasses in the bathroom where we have a mirror, so I could see where the mouthpiece is and read the buttons. But it is a hell of a lot easier to just pick up one of the 8 extensions on the landline in the house.
Bill
LOL
I know what you mean and that was Ray who sent the message as I rarely text. I do most of that when I go to Europe as it's common over there. In the US it's mostly the kids who are texting us old geezers just e mail and post.
It was great to meet everybody and as for your being fashionably late that's no problem, Monday night was the only night we didn't cram full of activities. Glad you could make it, I know your job has big demnads on your time.
More pics to come don't go away.
Thanks Ken
Kevin
