Somtimes i feel like i would like to try bleaching my hair blonde, like the guy below, the only thing that puts me off is the actual proccess of having it done(salon phobia lol) and the maintenance it requires...
Does anyone here know what the procces of dying hair from brown to blonde like the picture would involve? I hope it wouldnt envolve sitting in a hairdressers with some wierd cap on my head for ages lol, dont they just use foil strips on long hair? then again, i guess the foil strips would be equally as hilarious.
Well I don't know Zacks secret that's foe sure. You really have to be careful when it comes to bleaching hair as it can damage it then you've always got the maintenance of "oh get your roots done dear"! I for one could not go throught that routine once a month.
Of course it's up to you but like I said you got a great head of natural hair.
But don't tell anyone but getting the grey put in doesn't damage my hair lol!
Cheers,
John.
in what he has said. Thank you John for giving this advice.
Your hair is just so great right now. Is it really worth monkeying-around with and ending up with a disastor on your hands? It just might drive one bananas. Yikes!
The old saying: "It is better the Devil you know than the one you don't" can often come into play when it comes to the longhair.
To leave well enough alone usually assures one "POMG."
(Peace of mind guarantee.)
I have peeps tell me on occasion that I should get my hair dyed to get rid of the gray. I like my gray. But if you do want to dye remember Johns words of wisdom.
Man after reading your post i am actually considering getting this done...just once tho....and since i already have blond hair you wont be able to notice the roots growing in as much. However it would be cool to have that "sun bleached" effect all the time.
I can speak to this; my natural color is a mousey brown, I bleached to just one shade lighter, but over time the bleaching gets even lighter. My last dye job was on August 21, 8 months ago. It depends on your colorist, but usually for longer hair they use foil, especially when you "weave" in different shades for highlights and lowlights.
Bleaching WILL dry out your hair. If your hair is usually oily, it's not that big of a deal, and kind of nice to go for 2-3 days without needing a shampoo. But when the roots grow out, at about 4 weeks, it gets annoying because you now have to use a shampoo for oily hair at the roots and don't want it on the bleached area, and moisturizing conditioners that you don't want on the root area (trust me). So, at about 6 weeks it's time to touch up the roots, and the cycle begins again.
Then what happens when you decide you don't want the dye job? I currently have 4" of "roots", and am going to let it go until the line of demarcation is at least where the longest ends are now. I'm just putting up with it, because I don't want to be a slave to my hair and hair dresser.
