How is your growth affected by say a cold or flu?? It might be safe to say it would slow or stop right since your body is using all of it's resources to fight off the virus right???
As far as I can tell, in my case hair growth goes without a hitch no matter what germ is out there that has ever grabbed me. I would tend to think that the ordinary common cold, virus or Flu would be of such short duration that it would never be noticed in regards to the growth of your hair or its quality.
Being sick isn't going to affect your hair growth but tramatic injury can hinder growth and overall health of your hair.. That is my experience at least... Was involved in a near fatal motorcycle accident 7 years ago that resulted in ruptured spleen (which was removed) compound open fracture of left tibia and fibia, bruised lungs, concussion, broken collar bone and a significant amount of road rash... For 3 years my hair went to crap and didn't grow much.. Split ends that wouldn't quit.. It was very depressing.. This month was the anniversary of that incident (April 10, 2001) and TLC just happened to be filming at the hospital I was at that month.. So, Some of you might have already seen me on TV in the Trauma Series Code Blue.. It will be airing again on the Discovery Health Channel on May 20th and 21st for anyone interested in watching my 15 minutes of fame the hard way!
Hope you get well soon, your hair is fine ;-)

I agree with you there Tom, my motorcycle accident back in '78 left me a quadriplegic from a broken neck. My hair has grown over the 4" hole on the left side of my skull, but my hair does not grow as thick as the right side.
By the way, I'm fighting off a cold now.
All the best to you Tom in your recovery.

Ouch! Sorry to hear that.. I got lucky by surviving mine without anything more than a slight limp and a few good scars. Hope your fight with the cold is successful!
Best Wishes in life and long hair!
Tom
If a cold or the flu dosen't hang on to long, I wouldn't think you would see any difference in hair growth.
Just my 2 cents.
