LOL...to begin, I'm saying that summer is getting close over here in central calif...today we're gettin a high of 94..and man, Is is HOT...and DRY...and UGH ;)
With summer coming in, I get pretty active...With swimming, goin on trips to the beach, working out in the garden, taking walks, and tanning here and there, I have a question concerning my hair and the HEAT...from the sun, of course!
What products do you guys recommend to help protect my hair during the summer to protect from damage...chlorine from pools...the salt from the ocean...and just bathing in the sun?...will my current leave-ins work okay, or is there any other products that are recommended?
Thanks guys,
-ddude :D
PS: I do/have been wearin hair in a ponytail more often now as well, which is a lot cooler... XD
Around here we have a sure cure for hot weather......
it's called a strong east wind off the ocean.
Today that east wind brought us much needed rain and
tempratures that didn't even get out of the 40s.
In hot weather I just tie my hair in a pony tail. A generally avoid the sun as much as possible.
With the exception of swimming, the best thing you can do to protect your hair from heat and such is oiling or a good leave in.
with swimming, swim caps are best, but even I'm not going to use one. So basically jsut oil it, and if you have the length, braid it. ^_^
Thanks....
Gonna try that now too! XD
take it from someone with lots of experience. the best way to prevent chlorine damage (other than a good swim cap) is simply to get your hair wet with regular water before jumping in. the hair soaks that up, and then can't soak up as much clorinated water.
to prevent sun damage, use a spray in conditioner before going out. oils can actually do more damage. take the spray conditioner with you if you are going to be out for awhile to reapply if needed.
also, keep your hair tied up in a bun or some such as much as possible. my hairdresser is always amazed that my hair isn't more 'sunkissed' because i'm always outside.
