I just HAVE to tell you all about what I saw a couple of days ago!
I was travelling up to London by train, when a shy-looking young man got on to the train. He was about 19 years old - looked like a student. His hair was long - over half-way down his back and he had a knitted hat on. When he sat down, he took his hat off and I saw that the top half of his hair was rather greasy while the bottom half (which he'd brought forward onto his chest) was rather dry-looking. I thought:'Pity he doesn't take better care of his hair.'
And then he did the most awful thing. He searched for a split end and when he found one he took hold of the little ends and began to pull them apart, splitting the hair in two all the way up, for about 8-10", until one piece finally broke off!!!
After watching, appalled, as he did this a couple of times I couldn't watch any longer - I almost felt sick! I buried my nose in my book until he got off at the next station.
There was no way I could have spoken to him in that crowded but silent carriage. He wasn't sitting next to me and if I had walked over and spoken to him I would have embarrassed the hell out of him, and, well, it's his hair isn't it? To do as he pleases with. However, I did think that if I had happened to have a MLH card on me, this would have been a perfect opportunity. I could have just written 'This might interest you' on it and slipped it quietly to him.
What would you have done?!
Like you said it's his hair and he may not care. Some of us are very thoughtful of our hair care and some are less botheredand a few just don't care. That's the way of the world and all you can do is think to yourself "what a shame".
Cheers
Kevin
depending on the situation. A little over a year ago I met a guy named Kevin while on a bike ride 1200 feet up in our local hills. He was talking about cutting it. I gave him an invite with our logo on it. He posted here later on saying he had decided not to cut, after visiting MLHH. His thread in in the archives. It is 178039 and on 4 2 2007.
