I decided to corral the hair in the back into whatever stump of a ponytail I could. Long story short, I had to have my sister put it up for me because I don't know how to tie one. The hair in the back is gettin kind of curly and she said I look like I got a "little piggy tail". I guess that's my funny story of the day.... :}
I am very happy for you and your first attempt at a tail. It isa very important step in the longhair process as it is the first sign that all of your hard work is paying off.
Now, as a word of caustion, I wouldnt pull your hair back too often in thses early stages and when you do, dont pull it too tight. For me (maybe not for others) I jept my hair pulled back often when I was growing it out and it caused lots of split ends and hair breakage. The reason is that you have to tie it tighter to get the overall shorter hair to stay in the tail and a lot of the hairs ends just fit into the tie, which splits them when the band is removed.
Congratulations on a HUGE milestone....

Lol,I always do a small pony tail after washing my hair,as it somehow helps managing the split ends.
Congratz on your first ponytail, it's a sign that your well on your way.
Thanks for the advice about an early ponytail I sometimes try one but it isn't very long yet and I don't want to get split ends.
