Almost all people find it interesting/amazing/cool that I am growing out my hair. As long as I keep it neat and presentable, then most people don't mind my hair. There are a couple of people that either make jokes about my hair, or otherwise have a couple of issues, which I don't agree with.
How I deal with this: For my dad, for this and several other reasons, I had reduced my time seeing him, partially since he made me get a trim in February. I don't worry about what my grandma say. Whenever a staff member at the Special Olympics program say I need a haircut, I take it as a joke, and I frown at the joke.
I will grow out my hair no matter what other people say. Since this is a long haired men site, I will be supported here.

Yes, a number of us cut our hair based on societal or parental pressures as adults. Finding this site has provided us with the inspiration, confidence and desire to continue growing our hair despite these pressures. I am confident you will find the same here.
You're in the right place for great love and support.
You're definitely in the right place for support. Don't fret over the naysayers, keep it growing and continue to wipe your ass clean with all of them. You will prevail.
Hey, ope things are good. I wish you the best of luck growing out your hair. I really have had no complaints about mine from anyone and most all people are pretty accepting. Some say they wouldn't know me with out it LOL Well hope your good over there on the west side of the state! good to see others from my area. Take care!
I was told since my hair is so curly, it will grow out and upwards and horizontally, and won't flow downwards. I used to believe them, but it didn't put me off. Much.
Then I realised. Hey. Even people with african hair get it to flow downwards when its long enough!!! So their comments are extremely invalid now :)
That's the way. Ignore them. Keep it growing if it's what you want to do :)
Well sounds like you have a good attitude about it and it's good not to take people seriously and roll with the jokes.
lots of luck growing it out.
