I've been working at a pool, cleaning it up for the quickly approaching Summer, so I've been getting a lot of sun. I actually got a bit of sunburn a while ago. I noticed that I got a lot of sunburn where I part my hair. The center of my scalp was bright red for a while. Now that it's been a little while, my skin is actually peeling from my scalp, like a bad sunburn anywhere else. Anyone else have this happen to them?
Completely off topic, I'm very excited to be seeing Symphony X tonight!
happened to me. Be sure to wear a hat (or other head covering) next time. BTW your hair looks fantastic.

Thanks very much. I'm hoping it will tan over and my scalp will adapt to the sun. Does your scalp do that like the rest of your body does?
As far as I know it does. (I seem to recall having seen bald guys with tan heads.) It is still a good idea to protect your scalp from too much sun.

Ha, that happened to me as well. I thought something was dreadfully wrong when I saw the big flakes of skin, then I realized I had gotten a bit of a burn in the same spot a few days prior.

Yeah, I just got back from seeing that tour. We were their last stop. Absolutely awesome show!
Done there, been that, many, many times. I found that dabbing vinegar with cotton balls helps take the sting out, and aloe vera gel is good for burns and for the hair. I also found that the act of shampooing hurt, as does combing and brushing, at least during the blister stage, so with the various soothing products I looked like a greasy homeless person and smelled like salad.
Now, I use hats, bandannas, and even zinc sunblock. My niece is a lifeguard in the summers, they get the zinc in the town school colors, just to make things fun.
Oh yes it happens it peels and life goes on. gotta be careful in the sun.
