Hello everyone (again),
Sorry for the double post, but as this is completely different subject manner. A few things...
One, I've decided to step down as a moderator for the site, effective May 12th. I have a lot of other obligations right now (mainly work and my relationship) that I need to focus on. I'll still post, but it will be limited. This obviously wasn't an easy decision, but it's the best route for me right now.
Two, I will likely be getting a significant trim after my next update, where my hair will be all one length. It'll still be shoulder-length or thereabouts, but it's something I've been considering for over a month now, and haven't really fudged on it much. I'll still continue to grow from there, but with me working in a restaurant, as well as potentially having to find other work, it's something I need to do for myself.
Three, I am back home in Colorado for the summer, finally. However, I have also been quite sick lately, and if this does not change by Monday or Tuesday, I will be going to the doctor to see what is going on. Let me just say that, driving 1200 miles while feeling like you're gonna pass out after any minor exertion, is not a good feeling.
See you guys around the board...
-James
Hi James, you must do what you need to do, I wish you nothing but the best - you have been a wonderful asset to the baord and as a moderator too.
I really hope everything goes well with the health issue.
Take care buddy, Dave
Hi James,
First of all, I am genuinely sorry to hear that you have not been feeling well, so I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers that you feel better soon.
Also, I would like to thank you for your outstanding contributions to our team. All of us really appreciate your hard work, and fully understand that real life can be very important. You are one of the finest members on the hyperboard.
I am sure the trim will go well, since your hair will still be reasonably long and you will continue to be growing it. You will have the one length look that so many of us prefer, of which Jason is our best example.
Take care,
David
Hey James, I hope you feel better soon. Nothing puts a damper on one's spirits like an illness or whatnot.
As for the other parts of your message, thanks for your efforts as moderator! I'm sure everyone appreciates your contributions to the board!
Peace,
Ryan
Hey there, James!
Well, one thing you can always count on in this life: It's always changing. To fight change is a fools game. Moderating a board is not the easiest thing. You've done a great job and there's certainly no guilt in stepping down and focusing your efforts in other important area's of your life.
I cut my long hair completely off for a corporate job in my mid-20's. It's quite common for twenty somethings to compromise a bit in order to get ahead. To do what you need to for your future's sake is commendable. Once you get older, get more experience in your profession and really establish yourself it makes having things such as long hair much easier. People won't be so quick to judge as your work and attitude will speak for themselves.
I'm sorry to hear of you sickness. Definitely hit up the doctor if it continues or gets worse. Your body might just be in shock from all the stresses of schoolwork. Take it easy this summer for sure. Relax and enjoy!
Best wishes,
~gman
Hi James,
Thanks for your update and I'm sorry to hear that you not feeling that well and I hope you feel better soon. None of us likes being ill that's for sure.
As always you've been a great inspiration here and the updates each month have been positive and encouraging.
I just wanted to thank you for your contribution the moderation team and what a great job you have done and offering your time to the team.
Cheers,
John.B
Hi James, so sorry to hear about your health issues...I certainly hope you find out what's going on and are able to get it straighted out. And thanks for your great contribution to the site!
About your trim...I'm sure you will like the all around one length look and that will be a good thing for you to do I'm sure. Wishing you well...
Max
Hey James,
First of all I'm so sorry to hear that your health has not been good as you indicated and I certainly hope its nothing serious.Basically gman expressed exactly what I would have told you as his response was right on.Being young and trying to advance in this world can be a tough issue but I'm confident you have the ability your accomplish your goals. As a newly appointed moderator I would have enjoyed working along side you but again you have to attend to priorities.Just have a safe summer off and try and get some R&R.Post whenever you can as your always welcome here on the board.Take care my friend:)
Mark
Don't worry about stepping down as moderator. Sometimes life needs us to focus on more personal things that we can work on.
If you wish to get the one-length trim then so be it. You have to do what makes you happy :).. And if it will all remain shoulder-length after the trim, then at least don't worry. That's still way past the awkward phase!
Please go check it out if you're feeling ill. You never know what you might have.
I hope all goes well.
Take care
SHawn
James, I'm awfully sorry to read of your travails and I hope you are not seriously ill. It is dreadful to travel while sick. As for the other problems I'm confident your good judgement will carry you through them.
Thanks for the work you have done for us. Other obligations are important to your life. I completely respect that you would wish to honor those.
While there are a few who never agree with trimming, your hair hangs so well and is full-looking that a one-length look will add a cleanliness to your look that may very well prove to be helpful in the service industry. I look forward to the update.
This is news I am not happy with. I hope the cause is discovered, is quickly and inexpensively treatable and that you have a speedy recovery.
I wish you all the best!

Hi James I'm a little late to the party but I want to say we'll be sad to not see you around the crew but I understand the need to move on as we all do at some point. I think shoulder length hair will look good on you and you know what your doing and what you want so best of luck with it.
last but not least I hope you don't have any serious health issue coming on. I'll say some good luck charms on your behalf.
Take Care and feel better soon
Kevin
Hi James,
Sorry to hear about your health problem and having to step down from from your moderation position. I'll be sad to see you go, even if it is for a little while. Keep us posted in the mean time, and know we're behind you all the way.
Joshua
I'm sorry to hear your'e not feeling well and I really hope this condition improves. I enjoyed working with you as a moderator and I know everything will continue to work out for you. Just concentrate on getting to feeling better. You might have the flu. I felt like what you describe for about three weeks in March. It was awful. Even if you get a trim, I'm sure your hair will still be great looking as it always is.
Have a fun summer,
MB
