Hey board, it is indeed good to be alive this fine (well, rainy in my area) day. I took some good pictures yesterday and decided to just let you all know I'm still growing and whatnot.
My name is Ryan, and I approve this message.
On another note, I tried to comment on as many updates as possible, but I missed a few. Everyone's hair is looking fantastic, keep it up!

Hey Shawn, in terms of actual time needed to get my current length, I'm not entirely sure. I'd say I'm coming up on 17 months worth, maybe. I inadvertently lost some length a few months back, so I'm a bit thrown off. I'm planning on going for the "all one length" look once the hair in front reaches my midsection. Thanks for the words!

Thanks Dave! I'm starting to actually enjoy the looks of my hair when its all unkempt and wild looking, so I guess my journey forward won't be too difficult. I'm thinking of going for mid-back /nipple length, but once I get there I could change my mind.

Your hangs dry the way mine does when wet. Keeping the curls butt adding just that much more length. Enviable. Looks good, Ryan. Keep in up!

Wow! Super update. Your curls and waves look awesome. Do you have a lot of trouble keeping it maintained? You look like you've seen a ghost in the first pic, lol.

Thanks for the feedback Joshua! As for maintaining the hair, its not terribly difficult, although I like to make sure I get rid of as many tangles and snarls as possible before washing it. I don't really tend to produce a great deal of scalp oil these days, so my hair fortunately doesn't end up too greasy looking or unkempt if I don't have time to wash it.

I'd be really interested to see just how many guys have curly hair in a typical local population in the US, but unfortunately not enough guys let their hair grow long enough for me to tell easily. Thanks for the kind words!

Hey, thanks for the kind words. I typically go the "low-impact" route with my hair, and it seems to have worked so far. My hair doesn't tend to produce much scalp oil these days, so I can get away with washing it once every three or four days without it looking or feeling greasy.
I haven't really experimented at all with styling my hair, in terms of using a blow dryer or a flat-iron or whatnot, and I probably won't every bother with such measures.

My hair is about the same as yours in terms of length and curls. I had grown my hair out for a total of 17 months now, with one trim for my cousin's wedding under three months ago. I regret the trim, and now, I am much more strict on growing out my hair and keeping it in good condition. You hair looks great; just keep it up.

Hey, thanks for the response. It can be a little bit frustrating having curly hair, but I really enjoy it overall. I'd be interested to see how our hair compares once we've reached the two or three year mark.
