You may remember that I posted ponytail pics a few months back. I tried it again today, and this is what I got:
I used some hair gell to hold loose strands in place. I'm gonna wash it soon, so I thought I'd give it a go before I did. The back is long enough for the tail to actually look good. Every time I tried it before, the ponytail stuck out awkwardly, due to not being long enough.

That is a nice thick ponytail, Chris. It looks good. How much of it reaches the hair tie now? It looks like most of it does. Hair clings together well so a ponytail will hold well with maybe 80% of it reaching the tie, except in windy conditions.
BTW, No matter how long one's hair gets, (including mine) there is about 10% that does not reach the tie due to new hairs continually growing in to replace old ones that have shed.

tail is coming on well - looks good. I would however suggest that you shave your side burns off to the top of the ear. Woiuld look much better on you especially if ypu want to look good for some event or work.
I wouldn't. It's part of the awkward stage and will pass. Also if you cut them you will ALWAYS have to cut them to keep them looking "acceptable".
Let it grow, let it grow , let it grow.
Wise words indeed!
I'd disagree, because that would be mixing a longhair and a military look, two looks that would clash.
If you are going to shave off your beard, of course you have to lay down a cut-line somewhere. The two most popular places are at the middle of the ear and at the bottom of the ear. "At the bottom" is better if you tend to be confused for being a girl. (Women's hair stops mid-ear.) Otherwise either spot is fine.
If you are actually going to wear your hair in a tail a lot, you will have similar issues with the hair around the neckline in the back. If you mostly wear your hair down, you can just let that grow and not worry about it, because no one will ever see it.
Congratulations, PhoeniXCE, on achieving a workable tail by the way! That is a milestone whether you choose to ever tail it or not.

Hey Chris your tail looks GREAT!See what dedication and patience will produce.I'm glad to see that you are enjoying the journey of longhair as its always a fun process as you break new ground. As the months and years go by and you avoid unnecessary trimming you will have an awesome mane:)Take care my friend and have a good weekend!

Hi Chris,
Congratulations on a great ponytail, and you appear to have a good ponytail thickness. Be sure to keep it growing!
Keep it growing,
David
It is no secret on this board that I am partial to ponytails and while you are making wonderful progress now, with more length yours is going to be a grand one.....
Thanks for Sharing !

Nice ponytail you've got there, won't be long until all the hairs reach the tie. That's better than this gelled look, it looks to greasy I like a natural look more even if not all the hairs reach the tie.
looks awesome Chris! thats def a good tail bro keep it up!
You hair is looking good, and it looks like you can finally put all of your hair in a ponytail, other than the bangs. My hair is at a length that I can put most of it in a ponytail.

Thanks for the replies, guys.
And I mostly have my hair down. It's the easiest thing for my to do at this time in the journey.
