Like a lot of people, I'm not much of morning person and I need some coffee to get going in mornings(btw, 8:00 classes SUCK). I've been taking supplements (a multivitamin, plus biotin, etc) and I've been thinking for a while now this probably isn't a very productive combination. After all, biotin(as well as a lot of those other vitamins that I pay so much for) is water soluble, and the caffeine (because it's a diurectic) just serves to send it out of my system that much faster. It seems to me that the supplements won't be as effective as they could be if the caffeine is keeping them from staying around as long as they otherwise would have.
I've tried to minimize this as much as possible by trying to keep my caffiene consumption as low as I can (yeah, right. i'm in college -caffiene's almost a staple food for college students) and by trying to cut out the coffee/mello yello/etc as early in the day as possible (again, this isn't always easy). I take my supplements as late in the day as I can - biotin right before bed usually, but the multi is supposed to be taken with food, so that's generally after whenever i eat supper on that day. Does anyone know if this is good enough? Are the effects of caffiene small enough that it won't matter, or am I just throwing my money away?
Thanks for any help or information.
(i know, some people are going to say that the supplements, especially biotin, aren't any good anyway. But i have noticed a somewhat faster growth rate in the past with supplements, and my hair grows really slowly anyway, so i'm willing to do whatever little bit i can to try to speed things up)
