Today in the gym there was 2 boys that started talking about my hair. The one guy I know. He is always saying that I have a mullet (but I don't). My hair is longer in the back than in the front but my bangs come down to my mouth almost now, which means it isn't a mullet. Well back to the story he yelled out that "Why don't you get a haircut" I answered because I don't want one. He kept on saying stuff then abut mullets, referring to my hair. He didn't bother me because I'm used to hearing stupid stuff from him but then the other guy said "He's got an ugly mullet," and that got to me. UGLY?!?!?! It made me wonder if my hair was ugly. I figured it probably was at that time because I had been playing b-ball so I was hot and sweaty so the sweat usually make my hair curl and it was. But when I got home I looked at my hair and it was a little out of place but nothing major. Then I took a mirror and looked at the back it was curling everywhere but it still wasn't ugly. My mom just recently got back her christmas pictures and I'm in them but I thought I looked awesome. I always thought I used to look dorky in them with my short hair but no longer!!! But then why did he say my hair was ugly???? Is that what people that hate long hair think, that long hair is ugly??? I see people at stores sometimes with long hair and most of them are older men with long hair that is usually pulled back into a ponytail. It is usually sticking out in places sometimes or something but just the fact that they have long hair means there hair looks better than every well groomed short hair person. But my hair is not all out of place (sometimes but not usually). I don't understand. His hair was ugly. he had short red buzzed off hair. That hair style is just gay if you ask me. Well, nuff said.
In my opinion this is just there way of trying to get you to conform to what society expects of guys, and that is to have short hair. If you don't let it get to you and they get used to seeing you with long hair then they'll stop with the jokes. However it could be that your hair isn't really the problem, he probably just doesn't like you and the long hair stood out as an obvious way to try and get to you. Whatever you do hang in there and don't let a couple of assholes dictate your hair style. You should be proud that you don't look like everyone else.

I can see by your email that you are young, You will learn as you get older not to let things like this bother you. In fact the power is in not letting this stuff bother you. The very fact that they got a reaction from you means you gave them power. Just ignore them from now on. If you can look in the mirror and think you look good well honey you are in great shape because alot of people in the world don't like the way they look and the sight of themselves in the mirror makes them sick. Its very sad. So enjoy your time, enjoy your new hairstyle and keep your power by ignoring the jerks. Also I just have to add your comment about the gay hairstyle is really not a very nice comment to make. There is no hairstyle that is GAY looking. Many gays have long and short hair, they vary as much as the heterosexual styles do. You may be offending some people of this society by making comments like that and you don't sound like the kind of young man that would like to hurt the feelings of an innocent person, especially since you know how your feelings were hurt when your hair was called ugly. Just think before you say things like that. Feelings are involved.
I must admit. Not to stereotype homosexuals, but the norm with gays lately is short and spikey.
I suppose you could say the same about heterosexuals, though. But I get the impression that (ignorant) gay people usually assume a man is heterosexual purely on the basis of long hair, and (ignorant) straight people assume a man is homosexual purely on the basis of long hair.
It's really stupid if you ask me.
Long or short hair has nothing to with being gay. By your last statement, you are just lowering yourself to his level. What's the point in that?
