Why are you sad? That's not black metal :(
So you just have to kick ur dads ass. :P
More angry, I guess! I shall summon the Pagan Gods to devour his soul :P.
I know what you're going through, man,as I also cut my shoulder length hair due to my mom thinking I looked gay with it,and also because I was starting to get some terrible tangles. The best to do now is to keep growing your hair without any cuts or trims, and to use a good set of shampoos, conditioners, mousses, combs and hats to keep your hair in place as it grows. In the really bad hair days, when your hair looks like a pile of garbage on your head, try thinking about how awesome it would be having it's old length again. You grew it once, you can grow it before.
Best wishes :)
Hi Bill,
I understand your sad, but the good thing is in time your hair will be like in the pic in time and even longer. Just have patiece and don't think about it to much.
I'm really sorry about this.
If it makes you feel any better, in time yolur father will come to regret his forecefullness far more than you will regret your TEMPORARY hair loss.
Hey Bill
Listen even though you cut your hair at least it wasn't buzzed so your recovery time will be much less so just be patient. Also treat this as a learning curve to being a longhair as its always you young guys that get pressured into cutting your hair always for some lame reason like"You look better with short hair"...Yea Right!Once you get older and experienced in your career you'll be surprised how those comments are greatly diminished. So Bill just stick around here as we won't steer you wrong:)Take care my friend.

Hi Bill,
Don't worry about it at all. The nice thing about hair is that it grows back. Before you know it, you'll be right back to where you were. "This too shall pass." Try to focus more on the journey and where you are now rather than where you were. And of course, stick to the board here for encouragement and support. We're always behind you!
Wishing you the best,
Joshua
Aww diddums....
Still at least it's growing back now and that's one of the things about still living with parents.
Don't worry Bill, for you will be beyond that length in a matter of time. It's nothing permanant! Look forward, not past. Good luck and I wish you the best!
Abbath will have to 'talk' with your father for making you cut!
lol

Just don't think about your hair much. Continue doing what you are doing and keep your hair neat. There is a rumor that trimming your hair makes your hair grow out faster. If you do the right things, like wash your hair once to twice a week, comb it neat everyday, and avoid blowdrying it, perming it or adding chemicals to it, and your hair will actually grow out faster.
I had a similar experience, since my dad want me to look good for the wedding back in February. It "returned" me to what my hair looked like in September. Believe me, I looked worse after the trim. I looked a bit like a Chinese woman. For a couple of months afterward, it seemed like my hair did not grow out at all. But by now, it returned to my former length, only taking under three months from February, compared to five months from September to February.
By the way, scroll down the board till you find my "17th month update" posted by me (Regardless). It shows pictures of what I look like now, what I looked like right before the trim and right after the trim, and see which one you find better.

Don't worry too much Bill... You are still young and have a lifetime ahead of you to grow your hair! Living with parents definately puts a damper on many things you have on your agenda so concentrate on being the best you can in everything you do for now.. You'll be on your own before you know it and growing some mad hair! Keep yur chin up dude ;-))

Hi Bill
The thought of your awesome locks gone in a flash is enough to cause even me to shed a tear. However don't be sad be happy now you're out of the house and can grow it as long as you wish. Unless of course you get a job where they make you cut it, but lets not dwell on that lets rejoice in the many updates as we watch you regrow that fantastic mane.
So we shall re jig the song to something like "don't cry for me MLHH" in the end you're mane will look even better than before.
happy growing
Kevin
