Upsetting how they show an anal preppy family looking down on a down to earth long haired individual. :-( Good thing I don't have insurance through them. Not cool at all!
Maybe we need to write the company?!?!
Allstate isn't available here in this state.
I was under the impression they were nation wide. Were do you reside?
I clicked refresh for about 5 minutes and nothing happened. Anywhere else we might be able to see this ad?
~JeffL
That's how Lemmy for Motorhead is earning money now!
Cheers,
John.B
Oh, that thing off to the side was the ad. Stoopid me ;( I thought it would be a video that wouldn't load.
Don't feel bad, Mike. I did the same thing until I looked at it. Duh... :-)
--Rick
Thanks Jeff!
I don't know what's more disturbing....the ad, or th link. O.O
That link was very nasty wasn't it. Ouch! LOL
Well if you feel you must and it's only an advertisment. I'll go back to planning the UK openning of the Intel UK museum!
Cheers,
John.B
Intel UK Museum! Now that would be neat to see! :-)
Oh no!! I have Allstate!! Should I write them, or maybe cancel it. They've been good to deal with all these years.
What to do....What to do....
Actually I don't think I'll let an advertisement get me all wound up. In society today you'll have that besides the guy in the UPS commercial has longhair and that's positive.
kevin
That UPS commercial was very positive!
personally, i found it funny. I don't really think it's a big deal, and the guy with the long hair seemed to eb the most happy out of all of them. Plus it gives me the idea of getting a couple of my longhair friends together and doing a parody, a bunch of longhairs with 1 short haired person :p.
LMAO
That would be so classic to do that! Be sure to post it here if you do! :-)
Not cool!
This ad is funny to look at. Allstate just wants to make money, and wants you to buy car insurance anyway. How they came up with a long-haired man disappearing, is beyond me.
Regardless
My MySpace
Geez that is a scary link.
My thought is that since it's comparing allstate to Geico (saying Geico users switched to allstate and saved money), the long haired guy is supposed to represent Geico customers...and in the Geico ads they have those cavemen, so maybe the long haired guy was supposed to be like that without completely copying their copyrighted image? Anyone else get that thought?
That could easily be...
Thanks Jeff L for putting that ad in your post as I wasn't sure I'd be able to see it on my own.Anyway that ad as far as I'm concerned is a piece of crap!Hey the removal of the longhair made Allstate 80% worse as I see it:)At least Geico likes longhairs in their ads.Oh well what was Allstate thinking as I'm glad I don't use them:))
Mark
Don't get Geico. A guy insured throught them ran into the back of my car, and they made a low offer, wouldn't raise it a cent, and then withdrew it completely, although their insured admitted full liability. I now have to sue them, although I keep putting it off.
Don't worry as I have no intension of switchin'to Geico! I use a local New Jersey insurer that I've had good luck with and I even get dividends back from them should they have a year where the payouts are light. So its like if the company saves money they give back to the policy holders sort of as a reward.I've never had that with any other auto insurer before. And my company doesn't waste money on dopey ads as they don't need to dig up customers as people seek them out because they are a good company.
Mark
The insurance industry is by far the sleaziest sector of the economy. There are a few good insurance companies, but not many. Most of them are all about taking premiums and paying out nothing is they can get away with it. I have had very negative experiences of that kind with MetLife and Geico.
Up until now I had thought that Allstate was one of the good ones, but maybe not. We only switched from them on car insurance because their premiums were high, but they were actually very helpful when we needed to claim. If anyone here is insured through them, it would be a good idea to complain to them about this ad.

I refreshed the crap out of this until I realized it might help if I turned off my ad blocking software . . . duh!
