Saw some of this stuff on sale at Sally's on my last buying spree there . . . Haven't tried it, but here's the scoop: $5.99 buys you a box of what is essentially perm solution & perm neutralizer. You wash your hair, comb it out, then squirt some of this stuff (has the consistency of a gel) about 1/2" away from the part (idea is probably to keep it off of the scalp) and comb it through, let it sit for 5-10 minutes, check for straightness, then neutralize it (squirt more goo on and comb it through) then wash it out for a few minutes. Comes with a video tape showing how to use it, and a timer so you know when 5 minutes is up.
The box says it's good to get rid of about half of whatever sort of curl you've got. Might not be appropriate for a lot of folks, but might be just the thing to help tame awkwardly curly hair in the almost-to-ponytail-length stage. If anyone tries it out, I'd like to know how it worked . . .
Just a fyi,
