There has been so much great advice on the hyperboard -- thanks, everyone (especially Ponytail Girl)! I've decided to go for more length, and hopefully over the next few years I can get my hair long enough for a decent ponytail. My hair is just over-the-collar length right now. It's medium-to-dark brown, and it grows pretty quickly (I'm fortunate to have a friend who sometimes trims my bangs, otherwise it wouldn't be practical to keep them long!). Also, it tends to become fairly curly in back, especially in humid weather. Do most women like to see curly and wavy hair back there, or should I plan on straigthening it some with a hair dryer (which I used to do the last time it was longer)? Any opinons would be appreciated. Thanks!
hairdryer is bad VERY BAD,I find curly hair looks best curly and straight hair looks best straight. I'm kind of a natural person and prefer things the way they were meant to be. You may find a nice leave in conditioner that will do you some good. I like trilogy by kms. Some people use infusium by clairol I have never tried it. If you are going in salt water or chlorine, use conditioner first and leave it in your hair, that will offer some protection or avoid getting it wet at all. Cover with a bandana if exposing to sun for a long time and avoid sleeping on flannel pillow cases, silk or satin are the best as tossing around in the night is a friction on the hair and can cause alot of damage. goodluck!
