Falling Free. My favourite of all. :-)
Hi Justin,
A great pic there and you hair is getting really long now.
Do I spy a tattoo or two!
Cheers,
John.B
Hey John-
Thanks so much for the compliment. Yes, I'm letting my hair get super long again as I have learned a valuable secret about trimming when it gets to "THIS" length and WON'T make tangles and knots a big deal as it continues to get longer. (Trimming when the hair is short is a whole different story and is normally destructive to becoming a longhair within a long enough time frame as it is.)
And of the Tats? Have had those going back as long ago as 22 years. I designed ALL of them myself. Ha Ha Ha! Someone once said to me: "What will the Undertaker think when he sees them?" My answer? "I have no idea and couldn't care less." I have never had a regret about any of them. But I DID put great thought and time into their creation. No one should ever rush right out and get one.
Take care-
Justin~
Your hair is down to your waist, and it looks healthy. I plan to grow it out to mid-back myself.
Regardless
My MySpace
Actually, my hair is a tad past what is considered "Belt Level." I had always thought that this was waste-level before some definitions came up on the board many months ago. Mid-back is a really nice goal. Best of luck to you in achieving.
Justin~
Wow, Justin, your hair is just incredible! It's so long and so thick right to the ends. It serves as great inspiration. Thanks for posting these!
Coming from one of the heros of this board you sure have made my day Jason. Thanks ever so much for your very kind compliments. I had thought that soon I would get just a dusting to make sure just the ends were thick enough. (I can tell when the tangles and snarles get really bad and I will take no longer than 10 minutes a day on my hair.) But now I am looking into doing my own trim when the time comes. I "think(?)" this time I may very well find that terminal for me is longer than what I had thought.
Justin~
Hi Justin,
What an awesome updae, and your hair is well past your belt now, and the ends look thick and healthy. It appears that you a a long ways from terminal length (I think you had feared you were close to terminal length before), and who knows, you might even have hair as long as EdG one day. One of these days, I should try some sort of a trim, and it would be good for my ends.
Also, I would like to thank you for your friendship on the hyperboard.
Take care,
David
Hey David
Thank you for your very kind words and thank you for being such a wonderful friend! Yes..........I may indeed succeed at longer hair than I thought possible and was going to keep it at waist to belt-level. Well, if it can be done and doesn't cost me extra time I shall go for it. Of course genetics I DO believe is playing a role here of which I am lucky to have. Hope you are having a wonderful evening and again I cannot thank you enough for everything. This whole board I am sure is thankful to have such a great member as yourself.......and for good reason too!
Again thanks, and best wishes to you always-
Justin~
WOW Justin a rare update and great pics. Your hair is longer than mine and thicker and almost no gray.....should I be jealous?
Nice tatoo as well.
Great to see your update take care.
Kevin
Hey Kevin
What's this..........no grey? Well, it's in there but somehow is not all that noticable. Should you be jealous? No way man, your hair is spectacular!

Thanks Kevin. Updates from me are quite rare as there isn't really anything to update nor has there been for several years now. But I usually do one in late August around my birthday just so the guys here know my hair hasn't fallen out yet or I have gone and gotten a "trim" back to my eyeballs. LOL :-)
You take care as well Kevin. I think that you are a great President.
Justin~
Justin,
An absolutely fabulous mane for a man of our vintage! Few of us are so blessed.
Bill
Thanks Bill-
Yes, I will have to agree that I am VERY fortunate at my age to have such a mane. Baldness does not run as far as I know in either sides of the family, so most likely all is a happy toss of the genetic dice.
Speaking of being fortunate, I am sooooooo glad I was born when I was. Steam Locomotives were still running. Many people still had Ice Boxes instead of a Fridge. Milk was deliverd every 3 days to the house in small glass bottles in which the cream would rise to the top. Our TV got 2 stations.......and they went off and on the air and were only available to watch at certain hours. People were still using Victrolas to play their 78's. Can you imagine?
We had all the NEAT stuff as kids to play with and could make due with a cardboard box. Not child safe toys then. We had the exciting dangerous and poisonous stuff. What a blast! Remember the penny candy? Size of the 5 cent Candy Bars? The 1st McDonalds that offered a Hamburg, Fries, and a Milkshake for .49! (That was a bargain even then.) No dr. health guilt trips to even think about. People just lived and seemed so happy. The country was such a different place back then. Not all the hang-ups of today. And we lived through the wonderful Hippie years which were such a blast for us. We were born into a different world. Back then a hand-shake was all that was needed to keep a promise or agreement. Today it almost seems as if a lawyer has to be involved as people today appear to be so sue crazy compared to back then. We didn't even have to lock the doors at night. I could go on and on. Sure wish Harry Truman was still around today........and IN the White House! The buck stopped at his desk.
Thanks again and take care-
Justin~
My, Justin, don't tell the younger guys TOO much! When I told one the other night in chat that I remembered before we had television, and that the only way to see a movie was to go to a theater, he was awestruck. We don't want any of them passing out!
I'm going to the concession stand now for a nickel coke and a nickel sack of corn. You want anything?
Bill
Yes! (We don't have those stands here anymore.) I would LOVE to have a Chein Dime Savings Bank that locks with the 1st dime and will only open when 10.00 is reached. Trouble is I always used to break mine apart to get the dimes so as to by a luxery of the day.......a "Chunky" Candy Bar. And one more thing, do they still have fizzies? Promise I'll pay you back the whole 1.05 for these. :-) I know you have a legal background, but with me no papers will need to be signed that I will pay you back. LOL
When you were 1st driving was gas .23 a gallon? Nobody even back then meowed about the price.
And Coke and so many other things that were packed in glass. They have all lost their taste in plastic.
Justin~
Hey Justin and Bill,
I remember one summer when I was a kid, we went by boat up to Macinac Island in Northern Michigan (a popular Midwest tourist destination). My dad was SHOCKED at the gas price that he saw there... "TWENTY-FIVE CENTS A GALLON, --- NO WAY AM I BUYING GAS HERE!!!" Needless to say, when the boat got back to the nearest mainland harbor, I think he paid $.19 cents/gal there (lol)!!
I was a 7th or 8th grader that year, as best as I can remember... Dinosaurs still roamed the Earth, and Henry Ford had not yet invented the automobile; but, I guess motor boats were at least in existance then (LOL)....

Hi Justin!
Wow those are some great pics of your awesome mane! You look fabulous and your hair is certainly to die for:)You have got to be kidding too about the fossil comment as you don't look a day over 30!Anyway why not have fun with your hair and the tattoos look very cool on you as well.I know you don't update too often so when you do its a great treat.Take care my friend and stay cool out there as we could use some warmth here in the east.
Mark
Hey Mark
As always, your remarks are ever so kind, upbeat and appreciated so much. (30? Ha.........I wish.) But, my hair was very long then meaning the usual mid-back length until after I fell for that "buzz cut" in 2002 in an attempt to hold on to youth. Well guess what. It aged me by 20 years and looked hideous. (Just like someone you might see a photo of hanging in the Post Office!) :-0 So, the best lesson learned was just be who you are as the progression of age cannot be stopped. Youth can be retained forever in the mind however..........and that is how mine seems to work. Inside I am still "The kid." It's fun! :-)
I have tried throughout life several things with long hair that the "purists" may not have approved. But I didn't care cause I liked it. One of the most fun was when I had a tail waist length. Don't think all was really a Mullet, but if so it was. Didn't bother me.
And isn't long hair just so soothing against the bare skin and having a breeze move it around when outside. You probably may very well understand that one.
Take care Mark and thanks again for posting to my little "Impromptu." You are such a great asset to this board.
Justin~
Hi Justin.Yes I like your attitude about coping with age as I feel exactly the same way as age really is only a number.I may be 46 now but certainly I don't feel like it:)Part of feeling young too I believe is being a longhair as that does seem to invoke youth. However when I first started to grow out my hair many years ago that was not my objective.Oh yes and I do know what you mean about longhair against my bare skin and the soothing feeling it provides.Thats one of the reasons why I enjoy the warmer weather of summertime as I can enjoy more of that then:)Well whatever you did with your hair in the past is fine as now you just have beautiful longhair that any aspiring longhair would love to have my friend. So keep thinking young Justin as you do not look as life has been hard on you.Have a great day and thanks for your participation in this community. You too add so much to this site and will never be forgotten.Take care Justin and catch you later:)
Mark
Very nice update Justin.....I am not sure I realized just how long your hair was.....lookin' good my friend !!
Thanks for Sharing and by all means do so more often !!
Walter
Hey Walter
Probably many don't know how long my hair really is and has been for years as I usually only show one update a year..........and for the past number of years there hasn't really been that much to show that was that much longer or news worthy. Now and then I may come in with a stray shot which can easily be missed as I may post it along with a reply to someone who posts something so it goes un-noticed.
I appreciate your compliments alot as well as you as a person who has been with this board for perhaps even longer than myself. And now a moderator! :-)
Take care Walter and thanks again.
'Ole Justin~
(Le Fossile de Moderator pour le Hyperboard.) LOL :-)
Your hair looks gorgeous, Justin. Just lovely. I really like the tattoos too.
Scott
Hi Scott and thanks for the compliments from one of the guys with the longest hair of all and probably our best expert on the subject. Have a question for you:
At the length your hair is now, about how often do you give it just enough of a dusting trim on the ends to make sure they are not too thin as to cause tangles and knots galore?
Take care Scott. Hope you are having a great day. :-)
Justin~
I have not trimmed a split in a long time. I don't get a lot of them. I usually keep my hair in a rope with 11 ties on it so it does not tangle much. You can see these by clicking on my image. The only time I have it loose is to show it off for photos at longhair meets (wind permitting) or to wash and dry it. My hair is fine and delicate and very tangle prone. It breaks easily and is far from ideal to grow really long. If I did not use multiple ties on it I would be forced to settle for lower back length max.
Scott
Great hair Justin and Awesome length!! Didn't realize your hair was that long!! Keep it growin' ;-)
Tom
Hi Painless Tom. Glad you chose this name rather than Painful Tom. LOL :-)
Yes, many don't realize how long my hair has been for years as they have missed the far and few updates. The last full update 3/4th of a year ago showed hair about similar length. It reached about 1/2 way down the butt and became such a mess of tangles and knots I had it "chopped-back" to waist length thinking I had reached terminal. Now I believe I may have acted in haste thinking this. Oh well, this time I will know for sure with dusting trims to keep the ends thick enough.
Peace
Justin~
Hey Justin, great to see an update from you after so long. Long being the operative word here!! that is one magnificent and long mane my friend, and from what I can see its so healthy and strong looking too.
Testament to the not overwashing and no trims technique.
Thanks for posting this update and take it easy over there,
~ Dave
Thanks Dave! You always have such kind things to say and they are appreciated............even to a living antique! LOL What I find rather amazing is that my hair IS healthy and I have not been for a long time, but I was not aware of being Diabetic until several months ago and was blacking-out and had hardly any energy. The Dr. was treating me for Adema. Well, the insulin medication has taken care of that and all of this BLUBBER WEIGHT that I had gained because of the condition is now coming off. Tipped the scale this AM at 183lbs. Hey, that's better than almost 3 months ago of 202lbs! My "set-Point" since my 30's was 177. I am almost thinking that I will make it back to that again now. Whew!
That is for sure. I hardly EVER had a trim and NEVER had one until my hair was waist level to get rid of some Splid-Ends. If one REALLY desires long hair, they just don't get trims in the "beginning stages" and should just learn to enjoy the "Wild Look" and all of the everyday fun stages that come with it that are really neat and will never be seen again. I know you liked that period. So did I. In fact, it was a blast! :-)
Take it easy Dave and hope you are having a great day!
Justin~
Nice to see an update from you, when hair is longer monthly updates have no meaning but when people do show an update it's awasome to see a great lenght like you! Didn't know you hair was that long.
Keep growing.
Hey Vincent-
Glad you now know how long my hair is as the avatar really doesn't show all that much. BTY: If you click on my avatar it will bring you to Photobucket where you will see all kinds of things, the most unusual being myself of course (LOL) and the photos go back a number of years to when my tail was only down a little past my neck.
Thanks for the compliment and keep growing your own hair. I doubt you will have any regrets.
Justin~
Very impressive Justin, absolutely fantastic!
Bruce
Hey Bruce-
Talking about "impressive," what about your own mane? Magnificent beyond belief!
Many thanks for taking the time to comment on my little "Impromptu."
All the best-
Justin~
Your hair always looks great Justin. You have the same exact color/texture as mine. I hope to get mine to waiste-length as well this time around. Thanks for sharing, always great to see your progress!
-Phil
Thanks Phil. Not sure if it always looks great. Ha Ha Ha, you should see it in that 1st 10 minutes I spend on it every AM. LOL :-)
I have always been happy with the colour and texture and have always felt bad for the guys who don't accept what they have to begin with as THAT is what ends up looking the best of all in the end.
Hope you get yours to waist length for sure. You'll love it!
Here is another photo which really isn't very good. I had alot of "bogies" along the way trying to photograph through the mirror. But a closer-up of my hair.
Justin~
Yea I'm definatly looking forward to waiste-length. And at least you go through the trouble of taking photos. I still havn't joined the directory somewhat becasue of my non-photogenicness lol. Anyway thanks for the bonus pic! And keep us all updated on your progress!
-Phil
Looks good, Jason
And I agree. Jason has the most fabulous long hair. Compared to him I might come in about 10th place! LOL :-) [Wink.]
I know you got the names mixed-up and DO appreciate your comment very much as being aimed at myself. Hope you can understand my insane sense of humor. Can you imagine.........I was actually kicked out of Belliview! I drove them all nuts!
All the best-
Justin~
Nice update, Justin!
I wish you the best,
Joshua
Glad you enjoyed it Joshua. Your own hair is doing just great and I wish you nothing but the best in not only future long hair growth, but in the continuation of what looks to be a fantastic web-site! :-)
Justin~
Excellent pics Justin! It makes me very sad to realize I've only seen maybe a handful of people sporting hair as long as yours in person :( Hopefully I'll encounter many more as time goes on.
Peace,
Ryan
Hi Ryan
Never thought of this before, but I am quite sure I have longer hair for a guy now that I have ever seen in real life on the street except for one case back in the late 60's! Can you believe? And at this age too!
The ironic thing is that it never gives me troubles out in society which I shun as much as possible. But when I'm out there I am always referred to as "Sir" and guess(?) there is respect for me despite all. Least ways I have never known if there wasn't.
The tide for longhair seems to be changing. Seeing more longhair at waist to belt length will probably always be rare, but in the next several years it may suddenly become more common than ever before..........but even at that rare I think.
Take care-
Justin~
It looks absolutely wonderful! I brightened up the photo for you.
Hey........thanks for the extra light and to brighten-up the original photo. Couldn't resist so took it one step further to smooth-out the grain. This is one tough cookie of a photo to try and inhance. What an interesting smudge in my hair. Will have to comb that out right away! LOL :-)
All the best-
Justin~
magnificent!!! ^_^ it's grown a lot since the last time I've seen you.. ^_^
Thanks so much for such a nice compliment, especially considering the agged fossile in question. ie: me! LOL :-)
Your own long hair is surely doing greatly and you may very well desire the length yourself that my hair is presently at. I think most guys can make it just about this far and after that it is a bit unknown if (probably because of genetics)if the hair has reached terminal.
All the best-
Justin~
