i know in genral alcohol is bad i just got a "salonsSelctives" conditioner and it makes the hair realy soft but should i use it ?
The problem with the cheapo brands like Salon Selectives is that after awhile it doesn't work so well anymore. Lots of those types will build up in your hair.
If you want an easy to find and not so expensive brand use Aussie (Moist conditioner), that stuff is great. You will see several people on this board recommending that one because it works and doesn't build up. Find it in most drug stores or Target, Walmart, etc.
A lot of brands have the alcohol in it and some more than others. It won't kill your hair but less of it is better.
cetyl alcohol is a fatty alcohol used as an emollient (used to smooth and soften; from the Latin "molere" meaning "to soften"). Formerly obtained from the head of the sperm whale, it is now produced in the laboratory. Cetyl alcohol is also used as a stabilizer for emulsions (fine suspensions of oils and water which need to be stabilized against separation).
therefore, Leron, cetyl alcohol in a hair care product will soften your hair but certainlky not damage it in the process. Use it without worry.
Your right, my bad, I was thinking of something else.
