I made the decision to grow out my hair in August 2006. It has been awhile since then and my hair has reached the end of my shoulder blades.
I would like to thank this board for providng support and very useful knowledge on how to take care of hair. The awkward stage was when I received the most pressure and resistance from others to cut it, but to be honest, I couldnt be bothered about the opinions of other people.
I have visited these boards often in silence, learning what I could and admiring the progress photos. So thank you to all the posters here who unknowingly made the journey easier for me. I couldnt have done it without all of you.
I think you should keep going till you reach terminal length, unless that's your terminal length.
Regardless

If I were you I would keep it growing until I've reached at least back length, cause it's at this point your hair becomes easy to manage and you can start doing different styles with it.But anyways, congrats for having reached your desired length :).Peace.
Thanks for all the replies =) . I am indeed letting it grow as it will. Reaching my goal has not made me averse to more lenght. I do intend to spend more time on these boards once I have more free time as well.
Well glad to hear that you are happy with your hair and resisted any negative comments during the growing out process. You can always continue to grow you hair more in the future should you decide to try for waist length.Thats what I did as I maintained shoulder/midback length for many years and finally in the late 90s decided that I wanted to go for maximum length as at the time I've never had it that long.So far at waist length I'm lovin' it:)Take care and have a great weekend.

Congrats on reaching your goal, Peter. I'm glad you're happy with your hair and your "look". I get the impression (mistaken or not) that you're telling us goodbye. Don't feel like you can't enjoy the community here, and contribute to it, because you're not growing your hair any longer than it is. Speaking for me, you're always welcome to hang around, shoot the breeze with the rest of us, and enjoy yourself.
Hope to see you around,
Jim
That's great to hear good news and success on your part. If you get a chance post a pic we'd love to see.
