One of our members here was nice enough to record the portion of the TLC show that I was in and post it on Youtube for anyone interested in watching that wasn't able to! Thanks Bruce, good job!

Wow Tom, Quite the ordeal. Glad you are OK! Interesting video presentation, Thanks Bruce for presenting it here but most of all thanks Doc for keeping Thomas with us!
peace, jonalbear
I'm glad I'm ok too ;-)) It was definately interesting... TLC put the presentation together very well, I was happy to know it was filmed as I don't remember anything from that week!
i just watched it damn dude glad your ok that looked painful as hell but keep the spirit up man you rule brother!
That's impressive. I chuckled a bit towards the beginning when the Doc complimented your tattoos. Impressive beard on the large gent standing to the left of your bed when the Doc came in to talk to you at the end.

I got a kick out of her tattoo comment as well.. hehe That's my partner, Drew, with the beard.. Old tattoo artist, biker and very cool dude!
By the way, I had a friend from college that gotten in a motorcycle accident as well last summer and she had a brain injury; she could not remember the accident itself and anything for the following two weeks after the accident. She was rushed into the brain injury ward at the hospital. She also had three broken ribs and a crushed nerve in her left leg. Luckly, she made a full recovery. In fact, her accident was actually more serious than your accident. I was not happy about that when she got into an accident like that.
For any person to get into an accident like that should be permanently banned from riding motorcycles. There is a significantly higher risk for fatal accidents with motorcycles than with regular cars due to their smaller size and exposure to the outside.
Regardless

So, Tom should be banned from riding a motorcycle because he got sideswiped by a guy in a truck?? Isn't that punishing Tom for something he had no fault in?
While we're at it, should we ban people from doing anything riskier than "normal"? So I guess I should give up sword practice, because I get bruises from it?
Who is being put at greater risk by someone riding a motorcycle?? The rider, and nobody else. The driver of the truck was at no greater risk because Tom was on a bike. And I presume Tom chose that greater risk. Who are we to tell him (or anyone else, such as your friend) that he (or she) is not allowed to choose that risk? He's an adult, and allowed to make decisions for himself.
Sorry, but the all-too-prevalent attitude these days that everyone must be wrapped up in bubble wrap and protected, even from themselves, just gets on my nerves a LOT.
Well if that's the case then everyone should stay in their house 24/7 to protect them from idiots or themselves.. Why not lobby to shut down every fast food joint in the world due to obesity and it's connection with heart attacks?? Or, my favorite, why not make EVERYONE take an exam BEFORE they have children? Or if you look up statistics you may find that there are MORE people killed in auto accidents every year then on motorcylces.. Or the government could start a new type of police orginization for safe sex.. The condom police! We should protect everyone from contracting disease.. You know, give them a ticket just like if you didn't wear your seat belt or wear a helmet! What would make more sense is to suspend anyones license who caused a serious accident due to negligence.. Punish the idiot, not the victim. My point here is life is full of risks and decisions, it's what makes life worth living, otherwise we'd all just be in a "prison" of protection....
Wow Tom, that was an impressive piece of film not to mention slightly disturbing (and that was just the horrible intro music)!, glad you made it through and are ok, it must be really wierd seeing your insides on film!!
Take it easy, Dave
LOL Yeah I hear ya' on the intro music.. hehe You can't imagine how strange it was, and disturbing, to see my guts not only on film, but pulled out and picked thru like a salvage yard.. I really wanted to be able to watch the surgery on my leg.. That injury has managed to heal well but is a constant reminder of that accident! At least I got to keep the rod and screws that held things together for the first couple years.. hehe
Tom
Greetings Tom, wow, what an ordeal...you are a bonafide trooper...I am putting you on my heroes list for sure! You made it through in fine fashion. That TLC segment on you was captivating indeed.
Cheers,
Max
Hahaha Thanks Max, much appreciated. I am tough as nails, so a trooper I will admit to, a hero on the other hand, shouldn't need rescuing!! My Doc is the hero here! ;-))
Thanks for watching!
Tom
Hey Tom,
I had already seen your story on TV before this posting, months ago. I was amazed the first time. Now I'm even more amazed to see it knowing that I can talk to you.
Glad you made it through!
DavidH
I bet that was cool watching it before you knew about me and now I pop up! Glad you got to see it.. hehe
Tom
Very glad to see you came through alright, Tom. I must admit it's neat to know someone that's been on TV, though I wish the circumstances were better!
Thanks to Bruce for recoding and hosting the video.
I wish you the best,
Joshua
That must have been an ordeal and a half, luckily you made it through ok.
