Hello Everyone,
As our group of longhairs get bigger, sometimes some people may want to host a get together somewhere, whether in a city where people sleep with friends, or it may even be in a resort. What is important, is to choose meeting places on the basis of its fairness to employees. It is a good idea to check the grooming codes of potential venues, restaurants, etc before holding an event.
We made a difference last year, with a letter campaign, when a chain of supermarkets tried to impose an unfair grooming code, and that worked. We can also make things work by holding long hair gatherings in places where the grooming codes are either absent and long-hair friendly. We can also make a difference by behaving in a civilized fashion in those places.
I am including an example of a link to a resort that is hair friendly in Banff.
Have a good day,
Georges in Montreal.
Banff resort with hair friendly dress code.
Wouldn't it also work to go to places that may NOT be so long-hair friendly, but have our hair and bodies neatly groomed and appropriately attired, and behave in a calm manner, to show that the negative stereotypes about longhairs are false?
I really find that interesting. On most things they are quite conservative (and rightly so, as it is a luxury resort with an image) but long hair on men is allowed. It's a breath of fresh air to hear of people who realize that -- worn properly -- manly long hair can be quite formal. It's like that at my church, too. Although they are quite conservative, I wear a nice suit, and I haven't had one single complaint. I'm really quite suprised! Now, we just have to wait for the rest of the world to catch on, eh? . .
Here's to the development of culture,
