Hello friends.
What are your opinions on cannabis? Do you think it should be illegal even though more damage is caused by cigarettes and alcohol?
I think not.
hmmm wonder if it helps hair growth...
YES ! It IS a Drug and it stays a Drug ! Cigarettes should be illigal, too !
No, i think not !
I smoke once or twice per week, I think it should be legalized. Any kind of smoking increases your metabolism, which makes your hair grow faster. Or so I've heard. I smoke cigarretes, cannabis and take biotin and I get about an inch of hair per month.
I love smoking despite the legal trouble it once caused me. I feel very strongly that it should be made legal for all purposes especially since alcohol is legal (Not trying to put down alcohol or anything, I like that too. Hell, they mix great.). The main reason I think it should be legal is because it really doesn't matter if you smoke or even how stoned you get so long as you don't act irresponsibly since it won't effect anybody except for you in really any way. I'm not sure about it not causing more damage that cigarettes though. I've heard pot's got 9 times the carcinogens than your average cigarette.

I heard it's not even as bad as cigarettes. I've tried it once, it was ok but I'm in no hurry to do it again. Some guy once told me that there's never been a recorded death from smoking it. He was pretty heavilly into it so I'd have to doubt that statement.
Then it is probably not much of a drug if it doesn't help hair growth!
I tried it a few times, didn't much care for it. Blocked my sinusues, made me giggle a bit, that's all. Just my humble opinion . . .
But, while I wouldn't cross the street to buy some, I have no problem about other folks using it so long as they're warned of the health risks and don't endanger other people while under its influence. Treat it like alcohol.
I don't think so . . .

Personally I do not have a problem with it myself, and like to indulge every now and then too.
But I've heard about these hair tests for weed, where they take a hair sample and can tell if you have smoked. Does anyone know how long the "evidence" lasts? Say, if someone smoked 5 months ago (they don't smoke a lot either) would the remnents still be in the tips of their hair??
Just curious. Thanks,
Scott
It's detectable "actively" in your hair for up to 90 days, and "inactively" up to 6 months. What that basically means is they can tell fairly accurately how long it's been since you smoked up to 90 days from your last bongload. I think it works for the occasional smoker, like the weekend variety. After that, they can tell you smoked, but not as concretely as in the first 90 days. The idea is your hair gets enough damage in daily maintenance that they can't detect much of anything after 6 months. There are a couple different ways to test the hair. No shampoos or other stuff will "strip" it from your hair because it actually is part of the structure of your hair. If you shave your head to avoid this kind of screening, they can scrape hair follicles from your scalp and get results. The only way I suppose you might be able to mess up a hair test is if you use a permanent dye or get a perm because both of these break down hair's bonds. I wouldn't try it though. Fortunately for most of us, they only use this in the courts, or if there is reasonable suspicion by, say, parents that there is more going on with their teenager than normal, and they're being clever about hiding it. When it comes to employment drug screening, most employers don't go to the hair test UNLESS it's for a very good reason.
BTW, I find it interesting that this question gets asked on a long hair discussion board. Is it still assumed that longhairs = pot smokers? Folks, 90% of my catholic high school in the early 90s smoked pot. It's everywhere. And, if used in moderation, it is mostly harmless and is very theraputic. Unfortunately, because of how easy it is to grow weed, it's almost impossible for the government to regulate it, therefore, it will never be legalized. It's fiscally more profitable for it to stay illegal.
As for helping hair growth, it really depends on the person. If you're generally healthy to begin with, nothing really will slow down your hair's growth rate. I've been smoking herbs on and off for all of the years I've grown my hair from my shoulders to my hips, and it's steadily grown between 9 - 12 inches a year. If anything, the fact that weed makes my hair oilier means it's helping to protect my hair. The one thing I have noticed, however, is when I quit smoking cigarettes a year ago, I started growing more hair. I think it had more to do with increasing my circulation than anything. My hair is almost 1/3 thicker since I quit, and it's only been a year.

V.good answer there.
Ok-some say it should be illegal, I would like to know your reasons for this...and explain them.
I have many reasons why it is less harmful than tobacco and alcohol and will be greatly willing to explain them to you. I just hate how the fact that it is illegal and through media hype-it is portrayed and belived by most as this dangerous intoxicant that kills. What are your reasons against?
I liked the comment about long hair=pot smokers...
Supposively marijuana never leaves your hair follicles (sp?), so theoretically if you smoke once your marked forever. I not 100% sure about this though but I am quite sure even though this does sound kind of impossible. I wouldn't worry about this test though, it's my understanding that it's not widely used and the tests themselves are pretty expensive. There are shampoos out there that will make it go away but I'm not sure if it only masks it for a short period of time or if it gets rid of it completely.
