Hey Guys-
A week ago when I posted an "Impromptu Update," some of the guys here remarked on Tattoos I have. I have always thought that they went well with long hair, and the ones I have were all designed completely by myself many years ago. These are not for everybody and don't think for a moment that I didn't put a great deal of thought into how I desired to express myself because I did. Many hours, weeks and months went into their planning to get them "just right."
Shown above was the 1st I designed and remains my all time favorite to this day. But of regrets? Not a single one so-far. But for those of you who may be thinking, I would advise thinking alot for all too often the person years later DOES have regrets.
If you click on my avatar you will see some others I just loaded-up in Photobucket. Notice that I said "some." (Always a bit of fun to leave the audience guessing.) LOL :-)
With good wishes to all and hope you are having a great weekend.
Justin~
Hi Justin and what a nice surprise to see more pics from you.You must be getting trigger happy with the ole camera:)LOL. Firstly I appreciate and admire all of your body art as its simply impressive that you designed all your tats.I wish I were that creative.Believe it or not I don't have a single tat on my body.So as you can imagine I look plain and boring in that regard.I always thought they were cool but after the whole world started jumping on the tat bandwagon I figured why should I follow suit. When I go to the gym it seems like everyone has a tat including the women.Who knows if I get the urge I may get one someday but it has to be the right one for me.Like you I would make that decision carefully as it does become a part of you.
Oh and how can I overlook your gorgeous hair as that is the topper.I just hope I will look as good when I'm your age. Thanks for your post Justin as it was great to see.Take care my friend:)

Hey Mark
Thanks for such nice compliments. But wishing YOU were talented? Ha......give me a break. Look at what a master you are at taking such superb photos! Not everybody can do that. Just outstanding!!!!!!
I can well see where you are coming from with the body art(?) these days as it seems to be everywhere. When I was doing my own thing however it was not all such the rage as it is today. Mostly back then most people were getting what was being had in the days of WWII of one purple colour and the typical Skull and Crossbones. And to think, here I was designing Art Nouveau inspired designs with a little Art Deco influence thrown in as well as hanging Fushia, Humming Birds and about everything I could think of contrary to the normal. But then again, everyone knows I'm nuts! And you know what? It's FUN to be this way! :-)
Take care my friend and before long I will have to get an email off to you. In the meantime I am doing much better now that the Diabetic disease was finally nabbed just in time and have actually at long last been losing quite a bit of weight and nearing my set-point of when I was 35 which I am starting to think I will actually hit. (175lbs.) No wonder I had not been able to lose. The disease was preventing it and it hit me in a most sneaky way that the dr. never even picked-up on. Must have had it for nearly 2 years and didn't even know.
Ha Ha Ha. If I were to lay down in a field now, from a distance people wouldn't think that there was a Mountain out there in the middle of it all..........but now its a hill and I hope that the hill will level-out as that will be all the better for myself and especially good for this condition.
Yikes! Didn't mean to turn all of this into a doctors report.
My best to you always Mark.
Take care-
Justin~
Hey there Justin
Don't feel bad about telling of your medical issues as we are all friends here:)I'm so happy that you finally were properly diagnosed and that you are returning to your lean self.It has to be hard knowing something is happening to your body but not having the rights answers. At least now you can do what is necessary to keep yourself healthy.
Well I credit you on creating innovative tats when the norm was your typical Navy/Sailor body art.I guess you had a trusted person do the work as well as it looks well done.Anyway I like your tats and hair and you are a great person. It would have been awesome if you could have been in CA when I was out there last month for the meetup.Well maybe someday we'll get another shot at it:)Be well my friend and do drop a note when you get the chance.
Mark
That's a great photo of both the hair and the tattoo, Justin. Wow, your hair looks healthy! I really like the tattoo as well. I can see why you still love it.
I'm glad you have no regrets in the tattoo department. I just have one tattoo on my ankle which I regret not a bit. I do think your advice about tattoos was really good though. I know more than one person who has lived to regret a spur of the moment tattoo.
Be well!

Hi Franny
You were much too kind with your words which were appreciated ever so much. And yes, the hair IS healthy (even though it is dead) and looks to be 2 different colours in that pic because of the way the sunlight was hitting me. The ends are NOT as light as what is seen here. But there IS gray mixed in and for the life of me I don't know why it never seems to show up.......not that I want to rush it or anything. LOL
Glad you like your one Tattoo. You must be another who gave alot of thought and didn't just jump in. And yes, I hear talk so often about "regrets." Those reading this and thinking in this direction think long and hard lest you end up very unhappy in the end.
Hope your weekend is going great Franny
Justin~
I too like tattoos. Here are two of mine. No regrets.
Looks like I need to clean the mirror. Ooopps
Thanks Quester for sharing those two so well done tatoos with all of us. I KNOW alot of work and time went into two such as those. Really nice. Easy to see why "no regrets."
Justin~
Lovely Justin!
Cheers,

Hi John
You can say so much with just a few words and I appreciate your comment very much. You are always such an up-beat poster to this board and have encouraged so many through the years.
Take care and best wishes to you for a nice weekend.
Justin~
which I got a long time ago. I think it was January 1st 1979, if I remember correctly.
Yours look fantastic.
Scott
Hey Scott
Those are just so cool! You beat me to it by nearly 10 years. YEAH! :-)
Thanks for your compliment about mine. Much appreciated.
Take care Scott-

Hi Justin,
You have such a fabulous collection of tattos, and it is awesome that you designed them yourself. You are a real artist, and I could never dream of being able to design something like these myself. Although I have never had a tattoo, these look fantastic on you, and go very well with your long hair. Your hair is looking thick and healthy these days, and is a real inspiration to everyone.
Take care,
David
Hey David
You are right. My hair IS rather thick and healty despite all that has happened over the past year plus. And of the artistic side of me, I was actually at my best composing music but am now de-composing. LOL :-)
Thanks ever so much for your compliments which were very much appreciated.
Hope you're having a nice day.
Justin~
Hi Justin,
I really like the tattoos. They look really cool and glad you have no regrets. I have debated with myself for years about getting one, but can never be sure if I really want it or not. I had a really cool Celtic/Irish cross design in mind then shyed away from going through with it. Thanks for the posting about this topic.

Hi Matt
That Celtic/Irish cross you speak of was probably real neat! But like with long hair, getting these things is just a persons inward way of expression.......at least I think so.
Glad you liked what this most excentric thought-up around 20 years ago. My Sister used to hate them and she would always put her dark glasses on in the house as a way of protest. So childish.
Cheers!
Justin~
Wow Justin that's so cool that you designed your own but then you do have an artistic flar. I too thought about it often but then talk myself out of it for the reasons you mentioned. The fact is many of whay I might have gotten I would regret today as I've evolved and moved on.
I often imagined sitting around the nursing home showing my old wrinkled faded tatoos and telling the story of who this is or that is.
I like tatoos on other people just not on myself.
As for the hair, that's not an extension is it??
Kevin
Hey Kevin
Alot of people like to look at tattoos but don't want any for themselves. Each to their own I say. Ha Ha Ha..........when I get into that Nursing Home, wait......impossible. It twill be Belliview 4 Me! I'll probably end-up being the only one there as I will drive everyone else nuts!
Hair extension? You got the wrong guy.......he posted earlier. LOL
Hope you're having a great weekend Kevin.
Justin~
Your hair looks great Justin, like I said before. I have decided not to get a tattoo, ever. I had a good weekend. I played soccer and met up with old friends.

Thanks Regardless and I am so glad that you have come to a decision instead of rushing into something that you would regret later. Sounds like you have alot of gray matter beneath that wonderful start of a mane you have. Glad you had a great weekend. So did I.
All the best-
Justin~
