With support from you guys here, though you didn't know it, I'm about 15-16 months into growing from a buzz cut. The other day a good female friend of mine says, "You need to get your hair shaped. You really should do that. It'll look much better." Now, I've since learned what shaping is. IMO most men should just let it grow naturally. Shaping seems more for women. Anyone here gets, or has gotten shaped?

Shaping hair is mainly for women, and I prefer to grow mine out the natural way.
Regardless
My MySpace - feel free to add me as a friend
Mother nature will shape it. The tool she uses is called patience. Beware of women that try and shape YOU.
Your hair will achieve a natural shape and does not need the help or interference of scissors.
Ignore this woman.
Exactly keep those naughty scissors away!
I had a feeling you guys would be against them, as am I. The best part is my ah... friend at this time... she likes me just the way I is! :-)

No, although it tempt me sometimes...
...and I'm a woman. But then, I'm not into fashion trends for the sake of being fashionable. If I see something on someone and think it might look good on me, I'll give it a try, but not necessarily know the name of it.
Here's a good response for future times when someone tells you what you should do because "it'll look much better": "I'm not here to decorate your world."
I got mine trimmed every 12 weeks during the growing process to waist length (took 3.5 years) You can get it "shaped" any way you want.
Long hair isn't just for women....why in the world would "shaping" be only for women? Most of the time, a woman's long hair looks better than a man's long hair.........they get it shaped.
