Hey hope you all had a great weekend especially those on the hot east coast.Since I was in Montreal for a few days I was lucky to escape some of this heat wave.So anyway I arrived home last night after a fun time in the city and of course attending the F1 racing event in Montreal.Other than a rainyish Friday the weather was great up north of the boarder.I have to say Montreal is a very interesting city.Much different than NYC close by to me.In my travels I couldn't help but notice longhairs sprinkled all over the place.Other than the cgp race there were several outdoor fairs going on throughout the city.Friday and Saturday nights on Peel were a blast as the streets were packed and the music was loud.So without blabbing too much I thought I'd share a few pics from my time in Montreal. So lets start with me at my hotel "The Lord Berri".Sorry for the lack of a smile.LOL.
Here is the view out my window looking to the north.
A birdseye view of the city.
Here's a cool bridge that connects Montreal to the island that the racetrack is on.
OK OK I know where are the longhair pics!LOL.Well I thought this guy had some pretty quality hair going. What do you think?
Now going to the races on Sunday I saw this group leaving the Metro heading towards the track.Hmmm now thats what I call a redhead!LOL.Think these guys are Ferrari fans?
Yeah but to bad that ins't really their long RED hair!
Yea I know but it looked cool anyway:)I'm sure under that red hair are some shaved heads!Yikes
These planes did some cool stunts before the race started.Glad they didn't mess up over the grandstands!Yikes
Well here is lap one to start the race. Some tight driving here I'd say.
Well thats about it as I could have done much more but I'll leave you with this guy who was begging for food around town. Thanks for looking at my pics and comments are always welcome.Take care all
Mark
Great pics, Mark! I've never been to Montreal and your pics are as close as I've ever been... so far! :-)
It was nice meeting you in April and hope to see you the next time you're out this way.

Hi Rick
Certainly it was great top see you while I was out your way this past April. As for Montreal you should definately try to get there sometime as its an interesting place. However try to avoid the winter months as I can only imagine how cold it must get there. Also thanks for the comments and glad you liked the pics as I tried to show a little of everything there.Take care my friend:)
Mark
I bet you had fun. I found the racoon you took cute. I believe it was fun to watch all the cars race. By the way, in Seattle, it had been unusually cool. It rained a lot and the temperature was only in the 40's and 50's. Ironically, the sky cleared up in the evening, allowing the sunset through.
Regardless
My MySpace - feel free to add me as a friend
Glad you liked the racoon pic as I thought it was kind of cool.I haven't seen one in years until this weekend. As for the racing it was a great time.I only got into F1 the last couple years as before that I mostly followed NASCAR.Its really interesting how different each racing series is.Unfortunately Montreal is the only F1 race close to me that I can attend as all the rest are quite far away. They did race at Indy a couple years but for now that has ended.Seems like your weather is like ours was only a few weeks ago as that certainly has changed. One thing you got on us are those fantastic sunsets over the Pacific.Take care buddy:)
Mark
Hey Mark
You take some of the most fantastic photos and I am so glad that you have shared these with all of us out here in "Long-hair Land." Thanks so much and glad you had such a wonderful time.
Now, let's see here.......who was the luckiest, yourself or Montreal? Probably Montreal being treated to such a distinctive super longhair, (ie: you) actually visiting the city from afar. Hope they rolled out the Red Carpet for you. That is surely fabulous long hair you have, and one does not see such all that often.
Take care and glad the trip went so well. :-)
Justin~
Thanks for the kind words Justin as I'm blushing:)I think you over rate me a bit but hey I'll take it wherever I can get it!LOL.Montreal is a great city as you should try and get there someday. At least you got Vancouver at your end though. Thanks so much Justin for being the great guy that you are.I salute you!
Mark
Your hair is looking wonderful, Mark. Montreal is a beautiful city. Hope you enjoyed your trip.
Scott
Hi Scott and thanks for your comments.I wish you all could have been there:)Take care Mr.Longhair:)
Mark
Hey, looks like you had a fun time. Montreal looks like a beautiful city, and this is probably the best time of year to go. When you mentioned F1, I looked up to see what happens at Laguna Seca, and found out they decided it's too small. I think San Jose has an F1 event though, or at least some kind of event where they block off part of downtown for racing that is not "stock car" racing.
Hi Steve
Yes Montreal is a city that is certainly worth visiting but I know its quite far for you guys on the west coast. For me its like a six hour drive to reach the city so not all that bad.As for the F1 races there currently are none in the US other than they ran at Indy for a couple years but dropped that race. Most of the others are way to far for me to attend.Oh and it was a great pleasure meeting you this past April.I'd love to do it again soon.Take care my friend.
Mark
It looks like you have a great trip Mark and it's a lovely city and I was there in 2000 and had a great weekend there.
Cheers,
John.B
Hi John,
Well at least some board members have made it there and I certainly agree with you about the city.I will be back again!
Cheers my friend,
Mark
Great set of pics, thanks for sharing.
Hope you've had a good time over there.
Thanks Vincent for the nice comment.Much appreciated:)Glad you enjoyed the pics.
Cheers,Mark
Hi Mark,
Thank you for sharing these wonderful pictures of your trip to Montreal, and it sure looks as though you had a grand time.
The last time I travelled to Montreal was way back in 1967! I was there when some members of our grade 8 class travelled there in May to see "Expo 67", which was built to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Confederation. It was a fun trip, and perhaps, one day, I will get back to Montreal again. After all, my last day of work is 16 days away, and I have travel plans in my future.
Take care,
David
Hi David,
Glad you enjoyed the pics I took from my trip.Actually that Expo you attended is where the racetrack is today. There are still some things still standing from that time. One I believe is what they are using as a casino today.I'll attach a pic of it and tell me if you remember it.Also congrats on your upcoming retirement. It has to be great knowing you will be a free man:)Take care my friend.
Mark
Mark, Glad you had a great time in Montreal. Have never been myself.----The Lack of a smile makes you look like Neil Young. Hey Hey My My!
peace, jonalbear
Hi JB
Well I have to say I never thought I looked like Neil Young buy hey you never know!LOL.Thanks for your comments.
Mark
Hey Mark. Great pictures and you and your hair look cool as always. I'm glad that you didn't dye your hair red like the guys in that picture. Sounds like you had a great time. You are quite the traveling longhair, first the west coast, now Montreal. I went to Egypt for two weeks in May. No longhairs there, as it is extremely hot. Hope that your summer continues to be fun. We'll have to get together sometime.
Del
Hi Del great to hear from you:)Yea I can't believe I made two major trips in just over a month but both were great to do.Sounds like you had an interesting trip quite far from home.Well I'm glad you didn't cut your hair due to the extreme heat in Egypt as I imagine you were the standout guy there.Hey if you took any pics from your trip I'd love to see them.Anyway certainly if you have time it would be great to get together sometime. Just drop me a line.Take care my friend and catch you later.
Mark
That is an absolutely great photo of you !!
Thanks for Sahring
Walter
Hey anything for you my friend:)Be safe out there as we need you!
Mark
Great pics Mark, it looks like you had a great time.
Glad your back and have fun in the heat wave I believe it's still hot out your way. I would gladly send you some water we have plenty to go around as of late.
Kevin
Hi Kevin and I did receive that water last night in fact! But man was it a downpour. At least its much cooler than its been. Thanks Prez!!!!
Cheers,Mark
Fantastic set of photos Mark! Looks like you had a great time, thanks for sharing :-) And of this terrible heat wave in the east coast, tell me about it! lol
Hi Chris thanks for your comments. It was a fun time as I've been up to Montreal before but I always like to visit again. The races there give me a reason to go north of the border. However there is a lot more going on and I'm sure I didn't even scratch the surface. At least it was cooler up there than back home.Take care my friend.
Mark
Welcome back to Heater, Anywhere, East Coast! Glad you had a grand time at the grand prix! I'm stuck on a dial-up connection for a bit, but I did see your hair picture. Lookin' good Mark!
Catch ya later,
Bruce
Hey Bruce thanks for the comments and sorry to hear about being sent back to the stone age of dialup internet.LOL.The cgp race was a blast and if you are into racing its an event worth going to at least once.As a bonus being in Montreal was fun too.As a final note I hope your hair growth is going well for you as it may be time for an update pic:)Haven't seen one from you in a while.Take care my friend.
Mark
Sorry for the late response Mark,
I'm glad to hear you had a great time; how many vacations is that for you this year!?! lol. Also, your hair looks excellent and quite long in the initial posted photo. You are also lucky to have missed those sweltering hot days here in NJ. Though today is fantastic outside and the weekend should be nice as well. Take care Mark.
-Phil
Hey Phil,
No problem with late responses as the saying goes "Better late than never".LOL. Well this trip was more of a long weekend than a full vacation like the one I took back in April.I think I'm a bit burned out as I seem to want more time off for some reason.Anyway thanks for your comments as they are appreciated.I too am glad I missed the dog days last weekend but coming home I sure was hit by it.At least the heat wave broke as the last couple days were not at all bad.Take it easy Phil and keep growin' that Hair!
Mark
