Hey All...
I have pretty long hair, and I have always had sideburns, I just wonder, Does anyone have long hair, with no sideburns? Im just wondering if I can pull it off? I have dark brown hair, but for whatever reason my sideburns always have a reddish hue to them... ugh, even when trimmed... So... I just dont wanna look 12, without them... LOL... Thanks all.
Well, without a pic to look at, our comments are going to be just guesswork; but, that issue aside, here's my thoughts on the topic, anyway...
Everybody's face is different, --- including the options of having various facial hair, which is all potentially part of one's adult facial features. The good news about shaving sideburns off to try out what you look like without them, is that you'll know it won't take all that long to grow it back, if you don't, --- unlike if we were to shave of our noses (or alter w/ plastic surgery as often as Michael Jackson - lol)!!
I go back & forth between a full beard, for example, and a goatee. Both look OK on me; but, when my full beard starts looking shaggier than I enjoy looking at in the mirror, then I eventually decide I want a change, going back to a shorter & neater-looking goatee. Then I start growing the goatee out to a beard all over again... It's a viscious cycle!!
I don't mind at all changing the length and look of my facial hair; but, re. touching or changing the length or look of my head hair, NO WAY!!!!
Have fun playing around with your sideburns!

I have no sideburns because I like the way I look without them. I was never a sideburn fan, especially the big mutton chops. Now, all of humanity may think I look better with them, but if I worried about opinions of others I probably would not have long hair : ) So "pull it off" is not an issue and has no bearing on this. So buzz them off and if you like it, done deal.
I don't have them either. Then again, I'm growing a mini-goatee as long as possible. Been at it for almost two months, which is a record for me :)
I think it may have stopped growing then.
I don't have sideburns, but I do have goatee and mustache, so that sort of takes care of the 12 year old problem. I do understand the problem, though. I have always looked younger than my years (thanks ancestors!), hence the goatee.

I think u should keep your sideburns as they are but its your choice on what you decide at the end of the day.
