Hi all,
Just wanted to say hello. I finally requested an add to the directory after posting here for like 3-4 months heh. For those of you who don't know me, my name is Phil, I'm 24 yrs old and from NJ. I'm currently on the latest of MANY successful journeys of longhairdom throughout my 24 years. Last time I had my hair at my longest of near elbow length. Hairline showed some recession (widdow's peaking) around late summer last year and by february of this year I had paniced and cut it short in layers which ultimately sucks since I would have near belt length by now if I hadn't and belt length is my current goal. Fortunatly, I am blessed with impressively fast hair growth and starting thickness. So really, it's just the front that kind of looks like crap now; though propecia is startiung to show some positive results. As far as an update goes, I've been wanting to post one however I dont own a digi. I plan on borrowing my sis's next time I see her so hopefully an initial progress update will follow shortly.
Right now It's grown about 4 inches since I cut it in early february and is a few inches past shoulders (upper back) and fully tailable which is great.
Anyway, I'm very happy to be a part of this community and have made some great friends and held great conversations here. I look forward to a great many more. Thanks all for always making me feel welcome here.

Hi Phil. I am glad you joined the board. By the way, I would like you to stay a long hair. Remember that people go through an awkward phase when they start growing out their hair, and that can temp them to cut their hair. But if you set your mind to have long hair, and know that you are going to go through the awkward phase, then you will have an easier time getting through that phase.
Regardless
My MySpace - feel free to add me as a friend
Hi Regardless,
Yes I'm glad to be here as well...I had to wait til someone sent me somewhat of a decent headshot...mine now is rather silly but it'll do haha. I honestly never really hit the awkward phase, I always would part it to the side and it would look fine. Through each hair growth journey, I found the annoying phase to be right before you can fully tail it...I believe you're close to that phase which is fantastic, as was your lsat update. But luckily, I'm a few inches passed that phase and it's excellent to be able to tail it again. I had it about the length in your photo when I cut it in feb from lower back, though mine was (and still is) in layers this time. I like the layers this time through actually, because I always had it "one length" all around. Anyway, thanks for the encouragement and I'll look forward to your next update as well.

Thanks Quester,
I can't wait until I'm able to post an initial update, I'm sure my sister won't mind as she supports the whole longhair thing (and only dated longhair guys lol) and is a hobbie photographer! I look forward to your next update as well, you previous one was excellent. Thanks man.

Hi Phil,
First of all, I am delighted that you have been added to the User's dirrctory, and your hair looks thick and healthy in your photo. If I have not already welcomed you, I would like to welcome you to the hyperboard as well. That is an amazing growth rate of about an inch a month, you are blessed! I will be looking forward to your future updates.
Keep it growing,
David
Thank you so much for the kind words David. I am indeed blessed with fast growth as I and others around me notice; unfortunatly I've inherited crappy MPB jeans but I'm dealing with that issue hehe. Thanks again for the welcome and I'll post an update as soon as I have an opportunity. Take care David,

Great to have you hear and so glad you like this board well enough to be an official member listed in the directory.
Keep us posted on how you are doing. We are ALWAYS happy to encourage as well as make positive remarks about updates in long hair success.

Thanks Justin, you personally have supportively contributed to many if not all of my posts and concerns and have certainly made me feel welcome here throughout my lurking; so thanks for that. I will definately keep everyone updated as soon as I can get my paws on a camera heh.

Thanks a lot for the welcome Dave. You've been one of the most welcoming and friendly people I've spoken to here. Ditto on your comment and I hope you post more of your Art here. The last one of your face was fantastic.

Haha I'm glad I finally did as well. Like Justin, Dave and many many others here, you've personally been a very supportive and welcoming friend here...not to mention most of your replies crack me up. I'm glad you checked my link out as well, though those recordings don't do us justice haha. Take care!

Hey Phil its great to see you become an official user of the mlhh by posting your portrait in the directory. Some guys do post a lot but never put their mug in our awesome directory of longhairs.LOL.So I will now give you an official welcome since you took that big step!
I'm amazed that you have gone back and forth on being a longhair especially being only 24.For me once I decided that I wanted my hair long in my early 20s I've never wavered from that and remained so to present date.I just know longhair represents me and I will always have it to the very end no matter what anyone thinks.Hopefully this will be your last time starting out again and you'll keep your longhair forever. But hey I know people have their reasons should they choose to cut their hair.
Anyway glad you are liking your time here and that you've made friends along the way which is very cool:)I'll certainly be looking forward to your first update once you secure that digicam!Take care my friend!
Mark
Thanks a lot for the warm welcome Mark, I'm glad I dtook the big step haha. Hey even though I had long hair on and off since childhood, I only grew to appreciate it in my early 20s so really you started at the same time as me. And yea, I truly agree that it's part of who I am and repressents my true self as you also stated. And YES I MUST secure a camera! Thanks a lot Mark, you've been a great and welcoming friend and I really enjoy talking to you here. Now let's do what we do best and represent LONGHAIR NJ!!!
-Phil
Congrats on the directory add. I need to get around to that sometime too, lol.
Looking forward to the update pics,
Joshua
Haha yea I'm glad I finaly did get around to it. Also I checked your page out and your kilts are AWESOME. That's such an interesting and cool hobbie of yours. I've recently come to embrace my Scotch/Irish heratage, even thoughI'm a quarter Italian and have an Italian last name hah. Anyway thank's for the welcome and I hope to see you added soon!
-Phil
Well done getting into the directory and sorry to hear about your cutting last February but we all do things we regret and you can get back to where you were in length.
Kevin
Thanks a lot for the welcom Kev. Yea we all make silly decisions sometimes. Though I don't completely regret the cut as I was able to get rid of some split/damaged hair and sort of start over with a generous headstart. I'm happy with my current result now, so looking back it's not so bad. And yes the length is certainly coming quickly which is excellent, I'm hoping that myth posted a few weeks ago about accelerated summer growth is true! Thanks Kevin, take care.
