my hair is in the awkward stage right now at about 5 inches on top and 3 inches on back nd sides i have very thick hair and it is also curly and wavy which i think is one of the worst combinations to have when in the awkward stage. Someone suggested that i get my hair layered to help it lay flat and to make it look longer as my hair will reach the middle of my nose if i pull it down but when letting it lye on its own it doesnt even reach my eyes because of the curls so do u think getting layered will make my problem any better or should i just leave it to grow?
oh BTW im growing from a short bak and sides whch i hav been told is not a very good way to start growing your hair out from
and help would be nice
cheers!
Leave it alone and let it grow. Layering will just make your awkward
stage last longer. If you want to get it long enough for a ponytail,
layering will just make it that much longer before you can put your
hair in a tail. BTW you've got to start growing from somewhere so
it doesn't matter from how you started.
I went with the layered cut(s). It will take a lot longer--especially if your stylist doesn't really unerstand that you are letting it grow out--but it does look better during the growing out phase.
hey man, i have the same trouble. sometimes i think i was born to b a rasta. have u thought about dreading ur hair? my hairdresser reckons our hair types wud suit it well and it does look damn cool. just let it grow though cos layering seems to do sod all
