I was by myself, so I handed the camera to a random guy who was there with his family. He took 3 shots, this one came out best I think.
I've been growing it for about 6 1/2 years now. I don't post here very often any more. I know it will be hard for some of the new guys to imagine; but you get to the point where there isn't that much to say about hair any more.
If you're lucky, like me, you get to actually meet some people here; and you live close enough to visit.
Also, I don't fret about damage and split ends and stuff. I may have been blessed with good hair genes; but I strongly suspect that many of the new guys here are fretting more than necessary. My hair might not be perfect in terms of quality; but I'm happy with what I got for the ammount of care I give it.
Hi Steve,
Thank you for sharing this photo, Steve, and your hair has always been a true inspiration. I have never been to California, but I hope to get there next year, and hopfelly, I will have the chance to meet up with at least a few hyperboard members.
Take care,
David
Thanks. Just let us know when you're coming, and there is a good chance we'll be able to meet.
Great picture, thanks for sharing.
Hello Steve,
What a great photo ! I really like your sunglasses :)
I only begin to understand what you said about "the point where there isn't that much to say about hair any more." It became entirely part of you, so... well, nothing to say, isn't it ?
Bye
Vivien
This is a cool shot. Good too the man didn't run off with your camera. I guess you're enjoying California then? Though I haven't been in the hair growing profession as long as you, I too know what you mean about running out of things to say about hair ;-). Your hair is great as always and good to see you at least post a shot every now and then on here.

Thanks. Yep, enjoying CA very much. Maybe I'll get to the point where "there isn't much to say" about CA, but I'm nowhere near there yet. I still find something new around every bend in the road.
God Matt, it's not like everyone there is a thief : )
unrelated note, but in the store a couple of weeks ago I saw one-time digital cameras and video cameras for sale. they were a few dollars more than the film one-time cameras. I wonder how they make the digital ones one-time and how long it will be before there's a hack for making them re-useable.
Anyway I'm sure glad for you that your hair has turned out so well Steve and you made the move now instead of waiting 20 years when it would be a lot harder (I know about that). I hope you continue to have a robust scalp so a few bits of damage aren't a big deal.
Hi Steve hope all has been well for you since I last saw you back in April at Duarte's.It was an honor to meet you and all the others who showed up that day which turned out to be quite nice.
I have to admit your hair is awesome as after seeing it in person I was amazed at the thickness and length you achieved.Well done!I know also what you mean about talking about hair or even doing updates as when your hair gets to be a certain length there really isn't much new to show in an update.Still though I love it here and like to read what all the users have to say.Certainly there is no other place on the net like this place.
Anyway Steve great to hear from you and I hope too that your job is holding up as I remember you mentioning possibly having to transfer.Have a fantastic weekend out there on the west coast and don't be a stranger.Take care my friend:)
Mark
Thank-you, and yes everything is going well; better than I thought it would. The job looks like it will hold up a lot longer than I thought it would.
Looks cool Steve, and the beach scene also looks cool. I presume that this beach is in California, but I don't know.
Regardless
My MySpace - feel free to add me as a friend
Thanks, yep it's in CA. It's one of many places on Hwy 1 that seem to have no name. I call it, "the place with the modern house right by the ocean, the one that has the green windows, and all the trees around it".
A really great photo and I am glad that one out of 3 "made it." Yikes, with me it is about 1 out of 10! LOL :-)
Not hard for me to imagine as I hear you when it comes to the arrival of hair as long as is yours.
Alas, so far I have been unlucky. :-(
Yes, about all of the fret stuff does go away at our stage. And so true, it does seem as if many of the new guys worry too much as they begin their journey. When much younger there was no such thing as a computor! But we all grew our hair by just letting it grow and knew enough not to enter a Barber Shop. It was just so easy to comprehend that it wasn't even talked of. However, the end result for those that had long hair was always magnificent with one exception, that being an individual who never washed.
I just went walking on the beach here in Phoenix too - except that there was no ocean and it was 115F. Talk about sun damage! We're going to try to work up a cloud in July:) So far as the hair goes, your mane is awesome and an occasional length photo is nice. Nice chops too. I'm still growing the chops I had at the long hair meet in February. They're now 14" long and I'm going for belt length to match my goatee!
congrats Steve on 6 1/2 years! Lookin' good!
Bruce
Awesome Steve,
Very cool pic and the "chops" look awesome on you. This photo, however, doesn't do your hair length justice as I'm aware you have achieved some great length. Thanks for sharing Steve,
-Phil
... nice hair man you have my ideal hair, long and natural looking. nice color to .
